… is open for business. The landing point is the clear space between the two galleries, shaded by two eucalyptus trees.

On the south edge of the property below the Mysten Underhill entrance to the Red Umbrella: a hole.
Disappearing stream. This is the end of the flow that divides Mysten Underhill from its twin berg Mysten Parva.
This picture reminds me that Spongeberg Resident has been active lately.

I think Hucka D. wants me to “paint” this particular view. 🙂
Mystenopolis. My land is a logical connector between regions, I believe.
Baker Bloch in Minoa’s Small Gothic Cathedral. He has a number of homes now. My larger Minoa parcel has been entirely wiped, with the land set up for sale. No Power Tower presently in Second Life, then.
But what about that hole?

I decided to essentially delete my Minoa village yesterday after buying a 2048 parcel in Mysten. Well, it was actually 4 side-by-side parcels of 512 square meters each. My plan was to downsize the gallery situation, retaining only the two most recent ones, or the just completed Red Umbrella and then the large Fal Mouth Moon Gallery coming before it. Together they contain close to 100 collages.
I also decided to keep a long term foothold in Minoa through a 512 parcel right next to the Linden protected Rubi woods, donated to the Friends of Rubi Forest group. It has just enough room to allow my Small Gothic Castle with see through back wall to stay put. Nice.
And here’s my new digs. Turns out that my small rental gallery in Mysten was just a warm-up for things to come in that sim. All of those collages (Stonethrow — newest series) have been transferred over to the new land in the full version of the Red Umbrella, and added to the Sam Parr and Embarras series in the same building. To its immediate north lies the Fal Mouth Moon and its 61 collages. All that is left on my Minoa land as of today is the Power Tower Gowlery (Gilatona-Lis series). The art 10×10 has also been recently rezzed in another location, near the Kerchal Forest. So all of my digital collages remain rezzed in Second Life — they’re just split up more now, with the most recent chunk completed being in Mysten.
Why the change? Well, I just didn’t feel like I’d be developing any more in Minoa, despite the unparalleled location next to the Rubi Forest. I had to switch things up in order to keep advancing with my virtual experiences. And I felt the land was perfect in Mysten to effect this change and also potential downsizing. I’ve essentially joined a fairly large metropolis of several enclaves. My Fal Mouth Moon gallery now lies above a the curve of a road in a rental village owned by Lilli Field, an accomplished Second Life designer. The Red Umbrella gallery is similarly joined, in essence, with the even larger holdings of long time SL resident Psimagus Hax in both Mysten and Goremoor to the east, specifically a residential type section called Mysten Underhill.

Another 512. Curious. Give and gain, I suppose.
I created the parcel and attached group for this person, a Second Life friend. He’s camping out in said forest. I sold an important piece of land to him about a year ago. He seems to have fallen on hard times. I don’t know how else I can help him — homeless. It’s been *days*. The wife reinforces that this is all make-believe and it’s time to watch Monty Python in real life. 🙂
I’ve been working very hard on upgrading my wordpress blog to an actual web site. I’ve integrated about all of the sunklands.com pages into it, with the plan being to get rid of that site come August when the next yearly bill rolls around. I discovered that all the advantages I thought I had through webs.com, my host server there, were options I already possessed with the wordpress site as well. Cool! More options, actually. The only bad thing is that I have to give up my domain name. I’m using a free version of wordpress for my blog/site now, but may upgrade for that and also space and other reasons.
One of the nifty new features is the image and analysis buttons on the collage page, if you the reader hadn’t checked them out yet.

I’ve already turned my brand new Stonethrow analysis, just completed, into a page here:

All images in the Red Umbrella are here. It seems to be a completed gallery now:

I’m pretty exhausted from all the effort. I think I’ll call in Hucka D. to see if he wants to talk any tonight so that I can catch my breath. Oh, I’m also working on the Paradox II: The Chancelling document once more after a lengthy period of inactivity in that area. The text has all been pasted over from sunklands.com, and 5 pages corresponding to the 5 sections of the work have been created (Aquamarine, Cobalt, Azure, Indigo, Ultramarine). Actually maybe I better work on that tonight instead of talking to Hucka.
1st part here — and that’s certainly an interesting new angle for describing my history of audiovisual experimentation as well(!):

I believe the new collage series may be basically finished with the creation of “Triumph of the Toys”, a simpler composition. I’ll continue to interpret the tetraptych that came before this tomorrow. And I have a name for the series: Stones Throw. This comes from what appears to be the only legitimate golf course in Jasper County, about 4 miles west of the county seat of Newton. The appellation is in line with the naming of the other 2 series within the Red Umbrella, which also involve locations near this town (Sam Parr (State Park) and Embarras (River)). And what I really like about the name is its similarity to Stonethwaite, a UK location which dominates the Stones Throw series toward the end (tetraptych and then “Triumph of the Toys”). I might even call it Stonethrow to make the association more obvious, this word beginning with the same 7 letters as Stonethwaite.
Anyway, it’s all bleed’n coming together. The Red Umbrella Gallery is also essentially finished. Will I stay next to the Rubi Forest now all that’s over? The development of Collagesity has gone hand in hand with the evolution of this gallery and its 3 series. At the beginning of June, the virtual village will be one year old, although its existence spans two different locations (Noru and then Minoa/Rubi). I still have a considerable number of prims to play around with on the property. Is there more town myth making in the near future?
The other option I have is to disband the town and take the completed Red Umbrella to a new location, perhaps renting a smaller piece of property at least for a while to save money. But, if so, I’d like to take the larger Falmouth Gallery with me as well at the very least. And I would miss all the rest of Collagesity for sure. But is the potential downsizing worth saving, say, 30 dollars a month? I can see going both ways. Typical. 🙂
At any rate, I believe I’ll get rid of the abridged version of the Red Umbrella in Mysten within the week. I can’t rezz a gallery kiosk there.

I had a visitor this morning. Gave me a bit of a fright at first!
Turned out it was just a big pussycat. Aww.
I rezzed a big comfy cat basket on the bottom floor of the diner for it and then took my leave. I wonder if I’ll see the fella again?

Heading down to Mythopolis for at least a couple of days, perhaps through Sun. Mon? Tue? Have a choice whether to keep the Rubi property into May now or sell the land. I have no real attraction now to any other location in Second Life besides this spot — around the Rubi Forest. This is it for Second Life, unless I just start renting in basically random places. I haven’t worked on Collagesity town in a while. I was thinking of just destroying the town except for the Falmouth and Red Umbrella galleries. But I can’t quite make myself do it yet. Well… anyway I don’t think the decision will be made until I get back, which might be May 3 at the earliest.

Hucka D.:
I have no thoughts on this. Thank you.
Carr.:
I am up in the sky, in the air. Release me. From pain.
Spongeberg:
Not in this.

Looks like it’s up to me to get rid of Collagesity. Sounds like Carrcassonnee would like to be released from the burden. I might need it, however.
