00500505 (accidental exposure)

—–

At 39:00 she begins to enter the thickest of the green grass, and I specify green here because any color of grass could come up in Starfield on any given planet, any given biome. Here: Schrodinger VIIIa, the only moon our ever walking Gemilly Niceniece substitutes for an actual planet in her perpetual 7+ hour journey across seven Earth-like spheres.

Thus the ringed giant in the skies. We’ve been here before. Except emphasizing red in the captured screenshot below from photo-novel 49, a savannah biome as opposed to the mountain biome pictured above. See what I mean?

Back to the present one, Gemilly soon stops at the presence of two green stones atop a big gray rock and knows a choice must be made.

At 44:00, precisely before a fade to black and standing in the same position, she gazes up at the rings again. I’m starting to think this has all been timed out. I believe she’s thinking of death. TBC?

00500504 (as a man, as a woman)

“There! That’s what was on the map above where I went. Boos! Not booze as in alcohol. Something different. A creature!”

“This exact creature,” I tried to clarify. “White not black.”

“White not black,” he said. “Open mouth. Ready to attack, it seemed. Or swallow.” And swallow it did, he realized.

“How did it start?” I asked perfunctorily, as I had to. Still reading the script, you see. In the past.

“With the body. I found myself… climbing up a body. Skin to begin. Then more as I continued, inevitably ending up… at the end. Metal; a pipe, a long dark pipe about yea high to me in my state at the time.” He was raising his hand above his head as far as he could.

“Iowa?” I jested.

“Pipewold!” he said, staring at me, as if I wasn’t taking him seriously enough. I though of Newt/Baker here. This is something (nonsensical) that Newt/Baker would say to ease the tension, add in a bit of levity. I was becoming him, I realized. Losing the body myself. This was my exploration as well as Karl’s. I had to find a new one. Or else… back to the Concrete indicated grave I came from.

“The pipe, the entrance, represents the end of the seen and the beginning of the unseen,” I continued philosophically. “Neptune,” I put it in a word. “Neptune is in there. Beyond the Mars where you began. Did you find Neptune beyond the Mars, Karl? Did you?”

He wasn’t sure (!).

Later on — in the present I suppose — I found out that, yes indeed, he went back to Iowa once more. Through the back door as it were, Alpha switching places with Omega. White to Black again. Amazing synchronicity!

The dandelion indicated we were in the right place this time. Day 03.

Print of the famous “American Gothic” painting by Grant Wood inside the mysterious, buried structure that somehow still provides a walkable, perhaps livable space within…

… altered a bit from another angle to show a more hidden truth. Just like with the Indians, women often find themselves in the middle which unfortunately is in the way. Might have to get rid of them too in the end.

“Stand back, Opine… Opp, or whatever. You’re just a boy. I’ll go in instead. It’s safer for me.”

And so Karl Johnson or Johnston or whatever enters New Island’s infamous Pipewold realm. From the future. TBC

“You did *what* to your hair?”

“I dyed it. Black. Like the witches do.”

“Witches? Doo?”

“Yeah. Like, you know, Hazel, ha ha.”

“*Never* joke about that name, Shelley,” I reprimanded. First communicating with the wrong Day earlier in the day, then this. Day 02 I suppose.

“Oh, Father. You’re so… *backwaters*.”

“Backwaters?” I questioned again.

“Yeah, you know. In the sticks. Backwaters. It’s what all the hip kids are saying about old people stuff like that. Kind of a continuation of backwards — more your style of word.”

“And I suppose this has something to do with that New Island you’ve been hanging around lately. With, who is it, Eddy?”

“Edward.” My Eddy, she thinks, her old boyfriend and new husband in one.

We need to go back to the top of Mt. Sandraman next, she pondered later after the phone call ended with tense, terse goodbyes. Maybe have a picnic up there and take in the view and see where we are in our relationship… to the island. The villa we had our eye on is still unavailable to our disappointment. Many things are gone from the island we knew, she laments. But one object has remained stable down through the years now. The *exit* from Pipewold at 242 121 MacMorris. Just like Opp went through many years ago, entering as a boy but coming out a full blown man. And then what Mabel rediscovered when she visited the island later. It’s just like with the Indians. A proposed 2fer1 (241) by the damnable invading white people for land division. Wouldn’t work then and won’t work now. The entrance is gone and that’s how you get in. You can’t go in through the out door. One way.

“Son of Man,” he uttered disgustingly while approaching the man on the cliff. “*Sun* of Man. How could I fall for such a load of… well, *bunk*!” It was the strongest word he still dare hurl against his once beloved belief, his beloved former lord and savior and spokespersons thereof. No C word yet, no S word.

Then staring at the surrounding landscape far below he got an idea. He had to get rid of the new to return the old. Just like a certain island we’ll get back to soon. Switching to a dream more in the daylight, he positioned himself directly behind the *cult* leader while drawing his gun. Yeah, CULT. “Turn around,” he said. “*Me.*”

*POP*. Someone else had to fall for the same thing.

Dusk again, Jack merely spat a goodbye to his former guru and returned to the city, his job here done, he felt. But daydreams would linger… TBC

“Soo, decision time, reunited family of mine. Which New Island is New…

“… and which is Old?” But in staring at the screen before Wheeler, Shelley and Eddy, the answer becomes obvious to presenter Newt; right in front of his face. Daughter Shelley’s black and white dream island, the one she wrote the novel “Hmm” about to promote, is the old one. And the colorful Our Second Lyfe version, virtual but also more real in that way, is New. And they’re linked through Barnaby (Point), an artist colony and perhaps the place Shelley actually settles down in after a stint at Hazel and which could turn into Shelley’s true home… *in each,* her own place apart from Leeman or Leemon the creator of it all. A place that can be *her* creation too. Co-creator she can become. Together moving forward, one energizing the other. Like a game of tennis. Back to you!

END OF “SUNKLANDS 2025 MIDDLE”!

“Oh Eddy. Look at the time. We’ve got to end this thing (!).” But they stood still, at least for a while.

“You were complimented, you know,” he said after a spell.

“Was I?” She shifted her position toward him. She was never complimented. Especially by you-know-who.

“Yeah. Inside the Dark Peak. Someone messaged me, said that I was a lucky lucky boy to have you, And I am (!).” He left out the “beautiful” part for some reason. He probably shouldn’t have, maybe switching it out with lovely. Too late now.

“Oh Ed. That’s sweet (!).” And she leaned over and kissed him on not the mouth but the cheek. After a pause: “Soo… should we go back this morning?”

“Austin’s Island?” he said, thinking she might have meant another location.

“Whichever.” And after making sure all their clothes and attachments had rezzed in properly in this safer space to prevent lag or even premature log off (happens more than it should for them, especially Shelley), they teleported away from this place. The Ring just couldn’t hold them any longer.

Goodbye Old New Island. Or New New Island — haven’t decided which is which yet. Or actually which one is realer than the other. I’m guessing New, whichever that turns out to be. We’ll see soon enough!

Not yet, then.

First, to deal with all the whiteness…

—–

“Looks like they landed in Victoria Harbor first,” he talks aloud to himself while studying the Hmm material in one of the many ring binders piled up all around him. “That’s where– Gus! Could you keep it down up there!”

“Let’s see… the list, yes, that’s where he– Gus! Dammit, better check in on him.”

“Gus, that’s too much wood. Put away some of the wood. I’m starting to sweat! And I can’t concentrate because of all the crackling. Tone it down!” Then Frank Lynn remembered Gus’s power and decides to add, “Please.” Don’t want to anger the fire deity that holds this whole giant castle together!

Gus puts away some of the wood.

“Now, where was I?”

“Mt. Sandraman,” exclaims Eddy, not tired at all from the hike up since it’s only a 42 meter peak. Still he’s very happy they reached their intended goal for the, er, (photo-)novel. 6 sections in; kind of cutting in close….

“Pretty,” admits Shelley laying beside him in not nearly so high grass this time. Nor wavy. No wind here on *this* New Island. Or very little. “But nothing like the black and white one in my dreams.”

She rolls over, faces Eddy, her Edward, her New Island husband and just new husband period. “We can’t stay here, Ed. You know that.”

Eddy exhales. “I know.” He was tired of the argument of 6, slavery — at least in its triplicate form — vs. 7, freedom. He had to let all this go.

“We lost our thought-to-be villa.”

“We should have never left Sandraman here,” Eddy reinforces the loss. Perfect, though, they knew. For a brief time. Oh well.

“There’s always Gaston,” she tried to brighten the mood. “Dark Peak — more good times, right Ed?”

“Yes. Good times. But laaagggy.”

“Yeah. Austin is there, though, 3rd down in the pile of Firesign Theatre members still performing weekly at the Rhino. Or 2nd up.” She edges a little closer. “We could, let’s say, pluck him from the rest, sit him down and talk to him about… stuff.” She looks heavenward, as if seeing more in the sky. “And there’s also his island (sigh). More good times. It seems they would never end. Infinite supply of… you know.”

“I know.”

She rolls over again toward him. “He probably set all that up, you know. He wants to stay on our radar. Probably wouldn’t be too hard to manage. Look at what I provide you, he might say. Do this in remembrance of me.”

“Shel-ley,” reprimands Eddy, glancing over at her with a scolding look. Neither were religious in the traditional sense. But both also believed in the concept of evil in the form of, let’s call it, non-freedom. Witchcraft could be an element of that. Black magic. Control.

“At any rate, he wants us to read him. We also know that from Colorado.”

Eddy sat up. “Where are we *going* with this?” But he couldn’t help playing footsie with her through the frustration.

She lay down in the tall, wind blown grass, letting the resonance engulf her. The Hmm in its pure essence. Remarkable. She can’t get enough of it.

It makes her feel like a child again, riding her tricycle down the road beside her mother’s home.

Home.

She must get the word out. This is paradise!

A novel should do the trick, she determines. And so it came to be.
