Roaming 03 (Back Home)

A most logical place to put a certain protesting gnome in Collageisty: underneath the BOB gallery sign. Get it? Of course you do. But I actually didn’t really plan the conjunction — once more. I believe there’s a strong possibility that the gnome’s name is Bob as well, or at least that’s what he will claim. But please don’t call him Bob Resident or you’ll probably get whacked on the shin by his sign.

Snapshot1139_059

Rodin’s The Thinker, also a new town, um (whispers), “resident”, perhaps ponders the meaning of a blue bike in both Collagesity *and* collaged Stonethwaite in the Fal Mouth Moon gallery. Food for thought fer sure.

Snapshot1139_060

Baker Bloch outfitted a single room apartment in the back of BOB so that Edwardston Resident could live in Collagesity as well. But he likes it so much he’s thinking of staying there himself instead. Then where will *Edwardston* stay? Will he be blocked from coming back because of this? Is it fair to Edwardston? But, after all, Baker Bloch is Lord Town Mayor. For now (more on that soon).

Snapshot1139_062

Certainly an interesting view through that semi-transparent wall up to Drunk Man’s Ridge from the room. And I think that’s what Baker likes most about it, along with the increased privacy in comparison to House Orange. I’m not totally certain, but I have this feeling that Head of Perch may pay a visit to this room soon. Baker, are you *sure* you want to be the one in it at the time?

Snapshot1139_071

Oh, I forgot to mention that Baker has found Carrcassonnee’s dog Spider (!) Unfortunately, Carrcassonnee has now disappeared in turn. Baker is asking townspeople for help in taking care of the canine until Big C’s return. Or maybe he can just turn over this particular chore to Edwardston (?).

Roaming 02

There’s a frosted doughnut hanging in the sky just outside Edgar’s gallery, on land owned by Grid Explorers.

Snapshot1139_024

Very cool: on this parcel I also found a garden hose created by my old SL friend Cocoanut Koala, who I knew from both early Azure Island days and then from mainland experiences in Rubi a bit as well. She created, or perhaps still creates, very beautifully detailed work. She had a whole virtual village in Rosieri caddycorner to Rubi during my stay in the latter, filled to the brim with her artistry. I own several pieces by her, including a Ravenwood Cottage and a small shed.

Snapshot1139_025

A considerable amount of Cocoa’s stuff was found on this small Grid Explorer parcel, centered around a garden shed.

Snapshot1139_031

Another, nearby non-Cocoa shed, surrounded by natural beauty. That’s a rooster silhouetted against the sky beside it. As I wrote “rooster” there, it crowed at Edwardston Resident in another window (!).

Roaming 01

This night Baker Bloch decides to roam the neighborhood instead of working on Collagesity.

Baker heads south through the western part of Noru from his town. As he passes into the Mujigae sim, he turns and shoots this picture of a sign at the sim crossing. It was a familiar one, since he use to own a bunch of Noru land directly behind it in 2010: the now legendary (to him) Norum Woods, with the Blue Feather Gallery intially featured as a skybox from April to July of that year before moving groundside in August. And even though he abandoned the land in September, I believe, the forest remained for a number of months to come. You can visit Collagesity’s Noru Museum for more pictures of the forest and attached Blue Feather Gallery (and more!).

Snapshot1139_001

Baker actually also owned this land in Mujigae south of the sign pictured both above and below. The hollowed out place he looks toward is where a smaller version of the Blue Feather Gallery was positioned in spring 2011. Yes, Baker’s been involved with the Noru area for quite some time now.

Snapshot1139_005

Interesting statue just across the mahogany colored Chilbo sidewalk from where the largest version of my Blue Feather Gallery was once position. Hard to take a picture of it as a whole, though.

Story here:

Snapshot1139_013

This is an essential duplicate of Tired Falls in Collagesity, sans tire. In fact, I believe the property’s owner, Oddprofessor Snoodle, yet another local with Chilbo attachments, might have copied this from my old neighborhood holdings originally, along with some of my other copyable objects at the time. I have bunches of ’em! I’ll have to provide a tour of Oddprofessor’s very interesting, physics oriented science museum in Mujagae sometime now I’m back in the hood. And, as I’m rechecking just now, O. Snoodle also owns the Sentinel sculpture pictured above.

Snapshot1139_014

The fringes of Chilbo proper come into view.

The colonnade fronted building to the right in the below photo turned out to be an art museum…

…and avatar Edgar Artaud.

Snapshot1139_023

Ah… found the identity of Edgar’s user…

And there’s a, um, connection with Connectivism, which is an Olando7 focus as well. They must know each other virtually through Chilbo.

“Did you know, baker b., that Olive was (Egg)born(sville) in Korea and that’s her Homeland? She invented the game of Scrabble. More than that, though…”

bb:

She *is* Korea.

Hucka D.:

*That’s* the meaning of her newly placed Olive head in the diner, her (Olive?) Branch oracle center as I think you wanted to put it.

bb:

It’s an egg (!)

Hucka D.:

Ask Carrcassonnee. No use beating about a bush.

Carrcassonnee:

Are you at my diner?

bb:

*Your* diner. But: yes.

Snapshot11037_002

Carrcassonnee:

Then we can speak. We are speaking. You know that I am Korea. I invented Scrabble. I was Eggborn in this Homeland.

bb:

I think you are Hucka D.

Carrcassonnee:

No. We differ. On certain points.

bb:

I like the curtain. Contrast of red-violet and your yellow-green, olive shaped head.

Carrcassonnee:

That is my head. That is my eye. Captain.

bb:

It seems to neutralize the head or ground it. Then I guess the curtain will be moved during Oracle Time.

Carrcassonnee:

In this position at the Falls, a power place, I have additional thoughts and knowledge.

Map Nonsense

mapnonsense

Questions: Why is a Grayson County town called Sadler so identified with the direction South in both Kentucky and Texas? Julie Sadler’s art hangs in Collagesity’s Gallery BOB presently, but I’m not sure if she has anything to do with this. Or does she have everything to do with it. The cardinal direction South opposes the cardinal direction North. The cardinal [bird] just outside Gallery BOB is on the southern edge of Collagesity, in the small Drunk Man’s Ridge Town Park — official town park we’re talking about here. The twinned cardinal is situated in perhaps the other protected nature area of town: Tired Falls, and near the *northern* edge of town. Does the cardinal — both aspects combined — represent the directions North and South, then? It’s a good question to be asking, perhaps a great one. And if true, sheds light on the possible long term nature of Collagesity. I have another concept, perhaps related: Norubi, the joined, hypothetical merger of sims Noru, Rubi, and more.

Also perhaps related: Julie’s presently attempting to resurrect her Collage Clearinghouse site…

“Do you…

… have amnesia, Carrcassonnee?”

Big C:

I have backward forgetfulness. I am blank slate. Feed me my reality.

Baker Bloch:

Interesting. You don’t mind if I call you Big C do you?

Carrcassonnee:

Call me Carrcassonnee.

Baker Bloch:

Alright. Done.

Carrcassonnne:

Aren’t you going to ask about my hanging moss?

Snapshot1131_026

Baker Bloch (lying):

It’s nice. What does… it mean?

Carrcassonnee:

It is my arm drape of reality. My arm understands, and will tell the rest of my body soon. Then I will know. I have to wait, let’s see, 50 moons and 20 suns.

Baker Bloch (counting):

That’s over 24 years!

Carrcassonnee:

I can wait. I have nothing else to do except chit chat with the townspeople and give them advise about their own lives.

Baker Bloch:

Let’s reexamine that thought in a moment. So Carrcassonnee…

Carrcassonnee:

Yes?

Baker Bloch:

Do you know about LOST? The tv show I mean.

Carrcassonnee:

Yes?

Baker Bloch:

Then you do know.

Carrcassonnee:

Yes.

Baker Bloch:

Can I ask you some questions about it? That may be why I’m here tonight, and the island formed and the plane crashed. Did you know that the former owner of this land also had a crashed plane — just east of here, not a stone’s throw away. I believe there was an article in the Chilbo press about it. Hold on please, Carrcassonnee…

—–

“Well, I can’t find a picture. Sorry about the delay.”*

Carrcassonnee:

OK. Not OK. Just kidding.

Baker Bloch:

So back to LOST.

Carrcassonnee:

Ask.

Baker Bloch:

Do you know of [delete name]?

Carrcassonnee:

I am told — I peeked at the script this time — that we do not need to talk about that tonight.

Baker Bloch:

Okay, what do you wish to talk about?

Carrcassonnee:

You are here visiting me. You ask.

Baker Bloch:

I think we should talk about LOST.

Carrcassonnee:

Then ask. Don’t ask about the Hanja infohub, don’t ask about Chilbo or Parktown. Ask about LOST.

Baker Bloch:

You seem to be indicating you’d like to talk about local matters.

Carrcassonnee:

Am I? (smiles)

Baker Bloch:

So what about Parktown?

Carrcassonnee:

Parktown and Chilbo both can give you energy if you wish. They have dwindled but are still kindled. You sit between the two — more than ever. You are in upper Norum now and that’s the urban part. Rural has gone bye bye.

Baker Bloch:

Interesting. So you have knowledge of the Norum Woods.

Carrcassonnee:

I have knowledge about Second Life but not First Life. I cannot remember my *user*.

Baker Bloch:

What about this Perch fellow? Are you the same as Perch?

Carrcassonnee:

I am the Head of Perch, so, yes, I am Perch.

Baker Bloch:

Tell me more about this Perch, then, if you can.

Carrcassonnee:

Perch came from Hanjaland, where trees are ferns and ferns are trees. Satin… or Satan… commanded him to… well, he ran away from home. He had to sleep to get away, thus creating Tired Falls. He climbed the falls to House Orange — he fell asleep. Cutting z’s. Omega point. Shadow Man… er, I mean Satin couldn’t follow him into dreams. So he escaped… here.

Baker Bloch:

This sounds like a [somewhat] different story than last night concerning Perch, Carrcassonnee.

Carrcassonnee:

Yes.

Baker Bloch:

You said Perch ran a restaurant… no it was a general store.

Carrcassonnnee:

And the Norum Museum was a bowling alley. (pause)

Baker Bloch:

So there was a….

Carrcassonnee (cutting Baker Bloch off):

Yes.

Baker Bloch:

The Residents.

Carrcassonnee:

Yes. Mass Acre… age.

Baker Bloch:

From the North.

Chilbo Expands to Noru Sim

Residents Olando7 Decosta and Violetta LeShelle have recently purchased a large plot of land on the north end of the Noru sim – two sims north of Chilbo! This effectively expands the borders of the Chilbo Community by quite a lot! Congrats to Olando and Violetta, we’ll all look forward to visiting your new space when it’s ready.

Mystery Plane Crash Near Noru Project (Greater Chilbo)

Violetta Leshelle and Olando7 Decosta are building a living&meeting space in the far away Noru sim. The land is part of Greater Chilbo.

Right now you will find at Noru a box with the invitation for a French language virtual law seminar in Second Life, and if that is not weird enough, also a plane wreck.

The plane crashed nearby the main building without causing fatalities. No bodies were found and it remains a mystery who the pilots were.

Maybe you can find out? Visit the crash scene and tell the true story of what happened! More pictures are available on Flickr…

I briefly visited the site of the plane crash and it was VERY eerie, I kept hearing strange voices and couldn’t figure out where it was coming from… until I realize it was your neighbors on voice! laugh! I was one confused Fleep!

Fleep, you are even more right than you think about the voices. At nights, voices and whisperings are heard on the crash spot. My neighbors got so scared they installed a giant prim to protect themselves.

Obvious LOST references in there. 🙂

Carrcassonnee — New Position

1st, a shot of neighbor Veyot’s ode to Carrcassonne. Nice! Check out her recent tumblr entry on Collagesity as well. “Co-la-GES-it-y” — I like it!

Snapshot1131_002

Snapshot1131_001

Now on to the real deal for Baker Bloch tonight. Per the title of this blog post, Carrcassonnee has a new position in the Confluence Place (Cardinal Place?), which is on its bottom floor just below the more cramped quarters she was situated at during my previous post about her. This gives Big C considerable more breathing room, if she wishes, and also allows her some companions, of a jungle variety in this case. We have a chimpanzee, a gorilla, a hippopotamus, and there’s rumor about an elephant lurking behind the waterfall as well. There’s also a human companion, but unfortunately she was killed when the plane crashed into the place earlier today. I’m not sure if she was actually the pilot, one of the crew or passengers, or just an unfortunate passerby at the time. The gorilla is sad, and wishes to reanimate her and make her his pet. The chimpanzee laughs and tells him to eat her instead, and says that hippo wouldn’t think twice about doing such a thing. Hippo states the obvious: that she is a vegetarian. Gorilla rolls his eyes and looks to Carrcassonnee. “See what I have to put up with here?” he seems to indicate. Carrcassonne takes it all in, admittedly glad of the company. Each being knows its own place, and is happy there. The plane crash didn’t really happen in their midst. The gorilla actor (played by Bob Bassnote, of “Go Tell a Lie” fame) understands that the girl *will* be reanimated and take her position as Lord Vice Mayor of the Collagesity community. Chimpanzee also has read ahead in the script and knows that good friend Elephant (played by Joe Saxon of “The Savage Idiot”) has been written out — killed by the plane, although they all have to act like they don’t know that fact yet, for Carrcassonne’s sake. Big C is not aware of what’s in the script, and this was done on purpose. She wants to be *surprised*. Anyway, before we get to Baker Bloch’s most recent visit with Carrcassonne, here’s some pictures…

Big C’s new island diggs. Obviously a LOST vibe permeating this bottom floor now, with the crashed airplane and island and all. This is not an accident either. Well, it’s kind of an accident. But it was in the script. Big C knows. Well, actually she doesn’t know in this case; her choice.

Hanjaland.

With recent blog talk about a Hanjaland or Land of Hanja, I thought I’d offer views from Parktown mayor Boyd Doghouse about the actual, (virtual) place.

http://parktownprogress.blogspot.com/search/label/Hanja

And, yes, it’s actually just north and east of Collagesity. I TP over to the infohub every now and then when I’m not doing anything else of note, but haven’t interacted with anyone yet to my knowledge. Remember when visiting that ferns are trees in Hanjaland and should not be uprooted for any reason.

A picture of “Hanjaland” hangs in Collagesity’s official diner, as interpreted by Second Life photographer Melonie Darwin:

Thoughts…

“So Hucka, I’m looking at this map of Falls County, Texas, knowing that it was influenced from the past/present/future by Tired Falls. The story of this original settlement which, just recently, transformed into Collagesity is told in this map.”

Hucka D.:

Not really. And: yes.

bb:

Here’s the map.

fallscountymap

—-

bb:

Hmmph. There actually *is* a small town or village called Panic, Hucka D. It’s in Jefferson County, Pennsylvania, very near Punksutawney. That’s the place Groundhog Day was shot. The conjunction must be meaningful.

Hucka D.:

A town called Panic and Groundhog Day are conjoined elsewhere[ as well]. You’ll see. You’ll always see, unless you’re seeing or have seen.

—–

bb:

So back to Falls County, Texas. You have Satin very near a Guda, which was called Perch in the past. Now Carrcassonnee is indicating that, in past/present/future Noru, this Perch fellow, who is somehow the same as Carrcassonnee now, rode a horse named Satin.

Hucka D.:

Satin was the boss of Perch. Just like in Panic. Satin said, “Go find me a new place to live, preferable with some nice falls.” Perch couldn’t find any falls nearby, so he created falls. Tired Falls. Tired Falls is very similar to Panic. They trudged and trudged and trudged across mainly empty Jeogeot green plains and hills to Noru, which was, of course, called Norum in those days. Toy avatars and Second Life avatars mixed freely, even interbred. They established Tired Falls and House Orange for Satin. Satin was their leader.

bb:

Whose leader?

Hucka D.:

Perch[ of course]. And his dog Spider. Or his bird Spider. A cardinal I believe. Like a cardinal direction. They came from the North. North of Noru. North by Northwest, perhaps.

The cardinal now is perched in Tired Tree. Tired of living, it is. Tree above falls. Of same name. Kidd Tower there too — that was original. The restaurant building was there although it wasn’t a restaurant. It was a supply store. Perch ran it. Perch built what later became the Noru Museum next door to it. So there are 3 stages of that building, actually, the original quote unquote downtown of Tired Falls. There was originally the Waterfall Building, which had not one but *four* waterfalls pouring out of it.

bb:

But it wasn’t… go ahead…

Hucka D.:

This is the 4 in 1 again. Foreign One. Eventually, in Collagesity, only 1 of the 4 falls survived. Some call it Diner Falls. I like to think of it as Perch’s falls. Perch Falls. His cardinal sits outside still, waiting for Perch to return.

bb:

That’s kind of sad.

Hucka D.:

Perch makes his wall transparent he’s mounted out to look out at the bird sometimes and even speak to it. He does this often. But only at a certain time of the day: night. He does not want the bird to see what he has become.

—–

bb:

What of my father Space Ghost? Carrcassonnee mentioned that House Orange is actually my father’s house.

Hucka D.:

He dreamed and he woke up as you?

bb:

I don’t know.

Hucka D.:

The spoon isn’t there when he dreams. But you are beyond your father. You are interbred yourself. You are a merger of Linden boy next door and Space Ghost. And you have your own bird, just like Perch did. Are you Perch as well?

bb:

Again: dunno.

Hucka D.:

The bird is perched on your shoulder.

bb:

Maybe the bird is Perch, then.

Hucka D.:

You must think of redbirds and then blackbirds, then both at once. What is the difference between red and black.

bb:

Playing cards?

—–

bb:

Hucka D., I’m thinking Tired Falls — since Tired Falls leads up to House Orange at its top, then tired refers to *being* tired, as you are just before you fall asleep. “Fall” again, even. Tired Falls leads to the place of dreams, which is House Orange. It’s where Baker Bloch naps a lot now. He tends to fall asleep in that chair.

Hucka D.:

Because House Orange has been around a long time, it’s a nexus of past/present/future. (pause)
