Collagesity Views 03

Suddenly I’m getting behind in generating text for this here blog. Must work in middle of night. Maybe Hucka D. can help. Below is the falls of Central Stream, tumbling out of Noru’s Collagesity in a northerly direction. Well, technically they don’t gp beyond the northern limits of Noru and also Collagesity, but the idea is in place.

Hucka D.:

Someone came up that stream in the past. A giant.

bb:

Perch?

Hucka D.:

Shadow.

—–

Anyway, we have a cardinal bird perched in a dead tree beside the town’s diner, and very near the queerly mounted head of this Perch fellow. It brings to mind a number of questions. First off, the bird is perched in a tree near Perch — one and the same? Perch, in UMaps, has been directly assoc. with Satin or Satan, who is actually a horse depicted in the movie The Black Stallion. Quote here:

Satan – the Black’s first colt, all black with a white diamond on his forehead. He is at first a dangerous, brutal colt, and nearly kills Alec. Henry eventually tames Satan, turning him into a racing legend. Ultimately Satan and Henry develop a close bond.

More on that soon. I’ve decided to call the single water flow within Collagesity Central Stream. Simple but true; all builds around it, seemingly.

Snapshot1083_051

The cascades are perhaps called Tired Falls because of this large tire, present in duplicates of it on my properties probably dating back to 2009. This is an older way to cross Central Stream, before the insertion of Lo Bridge and Hi Bridge upstream. One still has to use the tire, basically, to access the Kidd Tower, which logically becomes an older structure of town. The stairs led one to Baker Bloch’s Home Orange and points west. If Collagesity was built upon an older settlement called Tired Falls, then this is its epicenter. It is here that Shadow Man came up from the plains and established what the related documents called the “Head of Stream.” Is this the same or related to Head of Perch? Is the Shadow Man the same as this Perch fellow? We’ll just have to play wait and see for now. He came, “from the North as the redbird flies.”

Snapshot1083_052

Snapshot1083_053

I temporarily made the east wall of the diner transparent so that one can see the close relationship between Head of Perch, a second falls emitting from the second floor of the diner itself, and the perched cardinal.

Snapshot1083_016

Perch and those diner falls are one.

Temple of TILE set up on the western edge of my land, deleted since I took this snapshot. Perhaps in its place will come the TILE Tower.

Snapshot1083_027

Another nice shot of pigeon and Drunk Man’s Ridge’s “aim high” sculpture, this time more from the pigeon’s perspective.

Snapshot1083_029

Snapshot1083_032

1 of 2 doors from Low Way to the Noru History Museum. Must get 2 signs for the doors soon.

Snapshot1083_034

The museum’s second, higher door.

Snapshot1083_035

Now we’re outside the town’s diner, with its giant spoon seemingly about to scoop up one of Collagesity’s remaining celtic stones, possibly the only one left. Does this, then, represent the removal of the last stone, which have gone the way of the dodo? There use to be at least 6 in town, and legend has that they were originally found in Hector. Where did the others go? Perhaps there is also meaning in the blue bike positioned in front of the spoon and rock.

Snapshot1083_038
There’s also a red bike in town, and it’s parked near where Low Way and High Way come back together on the east side of town. As Low Way also contains a blue robot and High Way a red one, we can assume that these color coordinations are meaningful. Low Way (blue) and High Way (red) represent two polarized aspects of one thing (white).

Additional interesting tidbit: as I’m checking now, the red and blue robots of High Way and Low Way respectively are also almost directly north and south of each other. I didn’t plan this either!

Snapshot1083_040
Low Bridge on Low Way crossing “Central Stream”. Not sure that stream name will stick. The bridge points directly to the spoon + rock just discussed, as well as the blue bike between them.

Snapshot1083_042
Not one but 2 Cardboard Derek Jones loiter near opposite corners of the Bodega Market in the middle of town, perhaps its most central structure overall. This symmetry seems meaningful as well. Will Bracket Jupiter move back into the top part of this market, where he resided was in Rubi’s VWX Town? I also recall that C. Derek Jones became his new BFF there (they both glorified House Greenup and Floydodo). I believe Hucka D. wants to talk about the relationship of Bracket Jupiter’s former “dodo status” and the diner next door and its spoon + rock. Another resurrection symbol?

Snapshot1083_043

Next we come to the reincarnated clockwork ballerina, now positioned just above the mysterious firey beginnings of Central Stream. Originally there were 2 twinned red flowers around her, but only one remains. At the time I associated them, and the ballerina, back to the Grady Twins from The Shining movie. Just to the ballerina’s east is the town’s art kiosk, a portal to and from the  outside virtual world, as it were. What means the removal of one of the 2 twinned flowers, if anything? Again, this seems associated with Rubi’s VWX Town, where the same ballerina appeared at the confluence of that town’s 3 streams. Once more it acted as a center. She doesn’t have her 3 blue hoops this go around, nor the pool and the matching 3 (hooped) blue fish.

Snapshot1083_046
Along with the accompanying flower, she exists in a triangle made by the conjoined walls of Toxic Art and Fal Mouth Moon galleries.

Collagesity Views 01

Baker Bloch sits at the edge of Drunk Man’s Ridge, looking toward what seems to be a continuation of the ridge past the pool in the depression just in front of him. At the edge of this continuation, if that’s what it is, appears the Galbraith Cutout, recently also mentioned here. She’s actually at one end of an official Collagesity walking lane called High Way, with the other end marked by High Bridge.

Snapshot1083_001

Snapshot1083_003

Would this still be considered a natural ridge? Why was the pond dug out in the middle of it, then?

Snapshot1083_005

Snapshot1083_009

Closeup of the Galbraith cutout and her winged feet. Perhaps she is a type of bird spirit.

Snapshot1083_010

From this angle, the pool is completely covered by the bordering brown cypress. Perhaps curiously, Galbraith’s water container and accompanying pouch (which also has the appearance of a dreamcatcher) are almost the exact same colors as the cypress + pool — hard to even separate them out visually here.

Snapshot1083_011

A cardinal bird roosts on one of the several Drunk Man’s Ridge rocks, twin to the one at the falls we’ll be looking at in detail a little later. It has an east-west alignment with the similarly red colored statue at the very peak of the ridge (“aim high” by Dave Koi).

Snapshot1083_017

And although I didn’t consciously plan it, this same statue lies directly north of another bird, a pigeon walking the edge of a BOB gallery railing.

Snapshot1083_019

A 7 prim freebie pool graces the western entrance to Collagesity proper.

Snapshot1083_021

Looking past the pool and trees into territory south of Collagesity. I use to own about all of it at one time or another.

Snapshot1083_023

A large cross use to exist on this knoll at Noru, 62, 135, 145. Speculation had it that the grave was Peter SoSo’s or perhaps the related Peter the Great’s or Peter the Good’s. Maybe even all of ’em. Does the grave site still apply?

Snapshot1083_025

Cardinal near North, VA. Only other North: SC, and with Norway, Sweden, Denmark and even a Finland. North is one of the 4 cardinal directions. North = Nordic (aliens).

Better

I wonder if the cardinal bird perched just outside of the Town Diner’s Perch Head or Head of Perch is reference to the St. Louis Cardinals’ Trevor Rosenthal, Hucka D.?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trevor_Rosenthal

He’s from Kansas City.

Hucka D.:

Back up, please. You lost me. You looked up Perch in [Lisa the V.’s] GNIRPS database and came up that Perch might be the same as Satan, or disguised as Satin — Old Satin, and perhaps Zapple’s Old Zircon the Devil. Red, then. Then the only US Perch is near Rosenthal. You looked that up, came up with a lot of crockery and a couple of artists and then Trevor, which you connected back to Collagesity’s perched cardinal outside Head of Perch. And the diner is full of crockery.

fallscounty01

Eddy-Bruceville on the northwest corner. Another Munsters reference.

“The cardinal is perched above a *falls*.”

Hucka D.:

Better.

fallscountymap

“Golinda is Perch, Hucka D. Just trying to make things clearer.”

Hucka D.:

Clearer is good.

bb:

Look at this:

fallscountymap04

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linwood,_Kansas

Linwood was founded as “Journeycake,” being named after Charles Journeycake, the last Delaware chief. (Sometimes people made fun of the name Journeycake by calling it “Johnny Cake”.) The town was platted on both sides of Stranger Creek, near its mouth at the Kansas River.

—–

“Actually that’s a lie, Hucka D. *Guda*, even closer to Satin, was formerly named Perch.”

Hucka D.:

Perch is Satan, yes. But a good Satan. A God Satan. Satin. Keep out orders of Satan!, har.

bb:

But back to Linwood, Kansas: Stranger Creek is in one of my collages, Hucka. And *Satan* is there as well.

Hucka D.:

Pull it up; put it out —

bb:

And a *fish*. Not sure if that’s a perch, but the red head man who might be another aspect of Satan holds it.

Hucka D.:

Perch is everywhere. Look under your seat.

All of a sudden (gasp!)…

… I’m down to only about 265 prims left to play around with. But the groundside part of the town is basically finished. And also I’ve rezzed the Temple of TILE now on the eastern end of my parcel — perhaps not technically in Collagesity proper, and, if so, the only building designatable as such.

Snapshot1078_003

I’ve also opened up guest galleries BOB (formerly Norum gallery) and Stairs on the west end of town, featuring the collage works of Julie Sadler and Kollage Kid respectively. Both of these artists are among those that I originally exhibited in Sunkland’s Pietmond during the 2010-2011 period. I’ll probably be searching for more collage pieces to exhibit soon. Another new development as of last night is the creation of a town diner in the “waterfall building”. Very nice fit, it seems; pics soon.

“There is a town history here to be sure.”

bb:

A town meeting might be in order.

Hucka D.:

Rezz Karoz.

bb:

And Edwardston Resident.

Hucka D.:

Bracket Jupiter.

bb:

Hucka Doobie!

Hucka D.:

Har!

bb:

Search… you go.

Hucka D.:

After you.

bb:

Search for collages online. New works.

Hucka D.:

Find out who wines and dines at the town diner. Who is “Perch”?

bb:

A cardinal bird perches in the dead tree just outside[ the diner]. Very near that head.

Hucka D.:

When can a Celtic rock become part of a meal? (then answering himself) When it’s food for thought.

bb:

Cool. Coolie Building complete again across Low Way[ from the diner].

Hucka D.:

That diner is a focus.

bb:

Let’s eat?

Excitement.

Just after choosing blue (Noru) over red (Rubi/Hector), the former flowers into a true, new town. Not *VWX Town* size, mind you, but perhaps the latter was a tad too large for me to manage. Collagesity remains the name, and as you can probably guess, the focus will be on collages, mainly my own (which have greatly increased over the last 2 years). But I want to showcase other collages as well, and have left some space/prims for such. Kollage Kid is an obvious target — check up on what he has been doing the last year or so. Perhaps Julie Sadler, and I have the building that housed her Norum Gallery already established on the western edge of the town. Look into collages in general.

Snapshot1079_002

I should mention my Noru land purchases immediately after selling the Hector property. These include a 1024 and also a 512 along what was then the southwest part of my Noru holdings, giving me a nice 72×64 meter space to work with. Without these purchases I don’t think Collagesity could have flowered into what it has become and is still becoming. Fate. These purchases eventually allowed me to create a *middle* row of structures between a north and south row, and this seems to have made all the difference. And the design of this middle row is basically an import from Rubi’s VWX Town — another sharing — copying the lineup of Bodega Market-Coolie Building-Stairs Gallery east to west again. A quite direct comparison with VWX Town can now be formed: Orange House can be seen as a very shrunken down version of the Table House, for example. More on all that soon, perhaps. There are a lot of VWX Town structures that don’t exist in Collagesity. However, many of the ones that have been developed beyond a shell structure (empty state) have been resurrected. True, we have no Temple of TILE, no Blue Feather Gallery, no TILE Tower, no Sink Lair. Yet what we do have seems even more pertinent for present times: the Kidd Tower, the Noru Museum (which didn’t even appear in VWX Town), the Stairs Gallery, the Norum Gallery, and of course the 3 large galleries with my collages, Toxic Art, Power Tower, and Fal Mouth Moon. Those form the axis, with the recent collages of Fal Mouth Moon more front and center than the others. Like I said, collage is the focus in the brand new town. Collagesity.

Below we have a picture of the center of town, a more open space surrounding its lone stream. Another comparison with VWX Town can be made here, since Collagesity’s stream is itself a *collage* or mashup of the several stream flows appearing in VWX Town. I’ll have more to say about that soon as well, I’m guessing.

Snapshot1079_003

Crossing a footbridge over a small gully marking the source of the stream brings us to High Way, an approximately 50 meter long L-shaped, basically grassy passage allowing direct access to the Fal Mouth Moon. Just beyond the elbow bend of this is now found the “Wyn Galbraith Cutout” seen in a number of my other virtual villages, and who Edwardston Resident became smitten with at one point last Fall during his residency in VWX Town. Another newly established building, the Victorian style House of Truth, can be seen beyond.

Snapshot1079_005

A great view is found from the footbridge down the stream and into lower country to the north. One of the many crystals in the town’s crystal field can be glimpsed. Soon after this photo was snapped, a cardinal bird alighted on the old and perhaps dead tree to its left. Cardinal Tree, then?

Snapshot1079_006

And then a look down the length of Low Way, running parallel and, yes, below the higher High Way to its south. As I’m studying the town’s passages now, it’s obvious to me that a main trail running west to east bisects into High Way and Low Way in its middle before recombining just east of the higher footbridge we just crossed above. I suppose High Bridge would be its name, as there is a complementary Low Bridge crossing the stream to its north. Quite symmetrical town as it is turning out (!).

Snapshot1079_008

Entrance sign at the west end of town. There’s a complementary sign welcoming visitors on the east end. I’ll produce a town map soon.

It’s over.

Noru has won the battle. Hector land sold today. Then to complete the deal I purchased both a 1024 and 512 parcel along the southwest part of my land to give me a 64×64 skybox, which is the same as a square 4096 parcel. Nice reward. These purchases also allowed me to re-manifest the Toxic Art Gallery. Collagesity is becoming complete, at least groundside. Tonight I’ve been working hard to get the recently moved Fal Mouth Moon gallery back up and running. Basically it is.

In 1-3 days I’ll abandon the unattached 512 that I purchased in Noru along with the original, larger property, and also a 1024 on the eastern side of the present attached parcel. This will bring me down to the next tier, with 8704 sq meters remaining.

I have a lot of prims left to play around with; a skybox build is in order soon I would reckon.
