Mysterious Mysten (just to get that title out of the way)

“Kidd Tower is now in Mysten, but in a secret place, Hucka D.”

—–

I don’t think Hucka D. is quite ready to talk about Mysten. He has to gather his notes together about it. At any rate, I have a history with this place. I discovered what I’m now calling Mystenopolis in January 2012. or about 3 1/2 years ago, when I still had Pietmond in Otaki Gorge as my main base. But not for long. An alien spaceship came and destroyed my beloved virtual village the following month. But I had the smaller Seven Stones community to fall back upon by that time, which happened to be located just south of Mystenopolis, or what I then called Australa I believe. Well, let me just give a link to related posts from the Baker Blinker Blog.

https://bakerblinker.wordpress.com/category/nautilus-continent/lower-austra/

Ah yes, I called the peninsula centered by Mysten Lower Austra. There’s also an Upper Austra as a balance.

But on this early map of the area (Austra originally called Australia), it seems that Lower Austra itself was divided into an upper and lower section, with Mysten in the middle.

Australia?

Hucka D. is indicating there’s a direct 2:1 relationship between Australia and Yd Island in terms of psycho-physical space involved. That is, Australia represents the number 2 (Upper and Lower) while Yd Island is a “mere” 1. For this reason, Hucka D. is also telling me that Australia is a healthier place to live in general, and that Yd Island is only for those more special ones who tend toward self-involvement — monads I believe he calls them. Australia is more balanced and complementary within itself. Yet Australia would not be possible without Yd Island coming first (again, this is from the direction of Lemon Lab and not Linden/Lime Lab, which I’ll attempt to explain in more detail soon).

Australia is the second, defined part of Lemon Lab virtual reality formed, directly after the first (Yd Island).

Another very important thing to keep in mind is that Mystenopolis lies between 2 twinned roads called Highway 13 and 14 by the Lindens, as seen on the following map I borrowed from Virtual Christine’s blog post regarding the Nautilus continent.

“Mysten Collages”…

… is open for business. The landing point is the clear space between the two galleries, shaded by two eucalyptus trees.

Mystenopolis. My land is a logical connector between regions, I believe.

But what about that hole?

Collagesity is no more.

I decided to essentially delete my Minoa village yesterday after buying a 2048 parcel in Mysten. Well, it was actually 4 side-by-side parcels of 512 square meters each. My plan was to downsize the gallery situation, retaining only the two most recent ones, or the just completed Red Umbrella and then the large Fal Mouth Moon Gallery coming before it. Together they contain close to 100 collages.

Snapshot7041_001

I also decided to keep a long term foothold in Minoa through a 512 parcel right next to the Linden protected Rubi woods, donated to the Friends of Rubi Forest group. It has just enough room to allow my Small Gothic Castle with see through back wall to stay put. Nice.

Snapshot7041_002

And here’s my new digs. Turns out that my small rental gallery in Mysten was just a warm-up for things to come in that sim. All of those collages (Stonethrow — newest series) have been transferred over to the new land in the full version of the Red Umbrella, and added to the Sam Parr and Embarras series in the same building. To its immediate north lies the Fal Mouth Moon and its 61 collages. All that is left on my Minoa land as of today is the Power Tower Gowlery (Gilatona-Lis series). The art 10×10 has also been recently rezzed in another location, near the Kerchal Forest. So all of my digital collages remain rezzed in Second Life — they’re just split up more now, with the most recent chunk completed being in Mysten.

Why the change? Well, I just didn’t feel like I’d be developing any more in Minoa, despite the unparalleled location next to the Rubi Forest. I had to switch things up in order to keep advancing with my virtual experiences. And I felt the land was perfect in Mysten to effect this change and also potential downsizing. I’ve essentially joined a fairly large metropolis of several enclaves. My Fal Mouth Moon gallery now lies above a the curve of a road in a rental village owned by Lilli Field, an accomplished Second Life designer. The Red Umbrella gallery is similarly joined, in essence, with the even larger holdings of long time SL resident Psimagus Hax in both Mysten and Goremoor to the east, specifically a residential type section called Mysten Underhill.

Spread’n Out

I’ve moved around some of my art to new locations in Second Life. Here they are. First up is a small gallery in the Mysten sim exhibiting my newest set of collages. I call it simply The Red Umbrella, borrowing the name and logo from the larger gallery of that name in Collagesity, Minoa.

Snapshot2021_001

Snapshot2021_006

Then I’ve set up a mirror gallery for the Art 10×10 collages in a location I won’t specify, but is close to the Kerchal Forest.

Snapshot2023_001

Am I preparing for the end of my existence in Minoa? Could be.

Updates:

I get in trouble if I don’t update this blog on a fairly regular basis so here goes…

Karoz (read: me) is still investigating the shoreline of Sam Parr Reservoir for faces. He’s determined that there are so many as to be useless, so far, in an esoteric interpretation. Of more interest to him (me, again) are 2 nearby formations. One is called the Falmouth Rabbit. Here’s some pictures.

falmouthbunny01

falmouthbunny02

In the second picture, the actual hamlet of Falmouth can be seen in its northwest corner. That’s the aforementioned Brush Creek connecting the Falmouth Rabbit with Falmouth hamlet through a sliver of green. Sam Parr State Park and its dominating lake would lie a mile or two to the southwest here. Brush Creek is perhaps the major stream dammed to create this lake.

A logical interpretation: the Falmouth Rabbit lies between the two collage series of Falmouth (northwest) and the new one called Sam Parr (southwest). The Rabbit is a guiding spirit, perhaps, for Sam Parr State College and the whole of Collagesity. Didn’t Hucka D. recently compare himself to a rabbit?

I actually went into streetview to look around 2 of the four sides of the rabbit formation. Didn’t spot anything unusual, unlike, say, my 2013 visit to Sunfish, Kentucky.

Can we, then, get additional clues from this Rabbit? I’ll perhaps come back to that thought.

The second formation is here…

dragonandboy

I call it Dragon & Boy, or Dragon Meets Boy. I see the boy within the brown field formation as cartoon-like and smiling. The dragon head it smiles at is expressionless. The eye of the dragon is formed by a grayer colored tree of the forest. The tail of the dragon extends northward along the lakeshore. Since the boy is smiling, I interpret this (and Karoz agrees with me) that this is a friendly meeting, and cooperation of some kind is taking place. The boy probably represents humanity, enclosed in a bubble world. The dragon is something alien, in contrast, and much larger. We are limited in scope on this small island called Earth. Those on the outside are seeking to help. They are very close.

Dragon Meets Boy exists in the eastern part of Sam Parr State Park. The lake the dragon’s tail extends along is its central, namesake reservoir.

Karoz is comparing Sam Parr Lake itself to a rabbit and its elongated ears, or, perhaps better, a jackelope. Compare this (Sam Parr Lake outline)…

The Most Interesting Jackalope in the World-1smaller

Looks like a pretty good match to me. It’s a happy, cigar smoking, beer drinking creature to behold here of recreational orientation indeed. Reminds me of the main character Fitz of 12 Oz Mouse.

“The jackrabbit has been separated from the antelope again. It is your duty to put the two back together. Similarly you must coordinate the new Sam Parr collages with the earlier Falmouth ones. Can you do this? I think you can… with my help.”

SL News, etc.

[Ike] listened to the tape and he goes, “What is this shit?” and walked out”.

As of tonight I do not own any land in Rubi, Heterocera Continent. I feel an age has come to an end, virtually speaking. From here on, I will continue to do some creative experiments in that reality, but never with whole small communities again. Pietmond will remain unique and a center. Sunklands as well. I’d like to go back and start reading the Baker Blinker Blog over again soon. Spring hiking season is coming up in the mountains. It was a good time to sell. I sold the land for about 75 dollars, about 15 more than I bought it with. Small profit on a land sale for a change! But this is not really about the money. Okay, a bit, since I’d have to pay 75 dollars in tier come Feb. 6th. Now I have to decide whether I want to even keep the 1024 square meter parcel I still own in Philudoria, which I’ve had since July, 2013. I also have a 2048 in the same sim but strangely I don’t have to pay for that. It seems to be some kind of “gift.” So I’m away from the Rubi Forest now, although I *still* do have the TILE Tower there, come to think of it. Interested to see what the new owner of the land develops. Unfortunately I don’t even have some parting shots of VWX Town. VWX Town is no more, Hucka D.?

Hucka D.:

It can return. But probably shouldn’t in Second Life. Keep developing structures. Galleries. Of course still create collages. That will develop the structures around them.

bb:

I still live, in Philudoria, near VHC City. That’s pretty cool[ still].

Hucka D.:

Good (pause).

bb:

Should I explore Bill Mountain tomorrow?

Hucka D.:

You know it starts at Mt. Zircon now. That is Bill Mountain. That is Billy the Mountain. The second of 2 major Zapple contributions to carrcasses along with…

bb:

Lumpy Gravy.

Hucka D.:

You said it, not me[ that way]. Where is Lump?

bb:

In Montana. Like the Frank Zappa song.

http://globalia.net/donlope/fz/lyrics/Over-Nite_Sensation.html#Montana

I’m gonna find me a horse
Just about this big,
An’ ride him all along the border line

With a
Pair of heavy-duty
Zircon-encrusted tweezers in my hand
Every other wrangler would say
I was mighty grand

Hucka D.:

Mountain descends to hill. Bill Hill. Here you have the lemon-lime controversy. We haven’t talked about how Lemon World is encoded in shot 61.

bb:

You’re talking about the poster with the elephant, the lion, the dog.

Hucka D.:

Yes.

bb:

Let’s see. Lemon World supposedly started in the sim of Ratzenberger, on Yd Island. That is the original sim; that’s the original island of the world. Then Lower Astra came second. It was doubled Yd Island. In the center grew the first true Second Life community. In the Mysten sim.

Hucka D.:

I will take over now. You know this is a giant green cube of 1024 proportions. Happy it was called[ at the time]. And of course it was accompanied quickly by Unhappy the Red.

bb:

I can explore now. I am unencumbered [once more]!

Hucka D.:

This community was also called Philo. Your Seven Stones community healed the split between Happy and Unhappy, the green and red. But more important is the collusion [sic?] of Lemon and Lime worlds there. Your 10×10 collages can heal [in many situations] virtually speaking, and Carrcass+2 and Carrcass+1. This is 2006-7. Oblong. Tap into that energy now for stability. This is the Nautilus Continent.

Second Life Mainland — basically empty

Snapshot4444_001

If I do return, it will probably be to the Nautilus continent, which has more stuff per square meter simply because there’s so much coastline. Contrast this to the dry interior of Second Life’s two largest continents: Jeogeot and Maebaleia. Not much at all to see there now.

Above, Baker Bloch sits at a lonely bar on Gong, a small Linden pool in Jeogeot. Technically this is coastline as well, but not enough to act as an avatar magnet of any kind. I’ve rented and owned land around this lake a number of times, and created the virtual village of Teepot nearby in 2010 and 2011. Good times. Now this small bar is all that’s left for meters and meters around.

There’s a small chance I might rebuy the land I held in Sikkima this winter, but only a small one — rebuild New Pietmond in that sinkhole and all.

Hucka D.:

Nautilus, yes. Whitehead Crossing: good to go. Prepare!

I can wait.

Forgot I had this little bit of mainland property left.

Snapshot300_002

Baker Bloch use to live next to this now *almost* barren mountain in Ephant on the Corsica continent. 1 tree left!

Snapshot205_003

But it’s to the Nautilus continent below Corsica that I’ll probably return in early to mid- July. The first picture above is from Lower Austra, which I wrote some about in early 2012 on the old blog. The Mysten town is still there, perhaps mysteriously so because it seems to contain no activity at all these days. A dead berg. All my structures in the general region have been deleted save the one pictured at the top of the current post, or what Baker Bloch sits inside of. Philo is really no more… nothing is really no more for me in terms of Second Life.

For me, the shape of things has changed there.

Snapshot300_001

But I may be able to rekindle a spark on Nautilus. Just a hunch.

I miss Heterocera.
