back!

Crack reporter Tulsa’s headlining newspaper article for the NWES Gazette turned out to be laughable. Carrcassonnee was not dead; Gill Alex made sure of that. Overnight, he established Collagesity’s Temple of TILE in Marwood along with reassembling the great olive being’s 6 body pieces back together, with the 7th, eye, being worked on. Once that’s done, it’s done! The 7th is always tricky but I’m sure he’ll manage it. After all, this is the former Little Robert Plant Variant we’re talking about here, who was from quite nearby Nowtown which destroyed even closer, neighboring Zen City with an atomic bomb called the Tall Cool One, elsewhere: Kevin. I can’t make this stuff up. It happened! But that is zen and this was now. Um.

In fact I have an old map of Jeogeot to help prove all this, showing the position of Nowtown and Zen City on what’s called The Claw of the continent, with the sprawling NWES metropolis forming a number of years later just NW of Zen City. There may even be some past-present overlap between the two. And to make things even stranger, the old city of Sternberg also marked on this map is now the site of NWES City’s parallel, somewhat smaller sister burg centered in the Xenosaur sim. Our Second Lyfe still produces quite amazing coincidences! And to add even more, Sternberg was where Little Robert Plant Variant gave up his tube, but I jump ahead of myself too far. We first have to understand why Page didn’t go along with the Sunklands Initiative at the time, unwilling to disengage from the, by now, radioactive Zeppelin brand. Plant, both 16 and 59 at once, worked alone after that.

Carrcasssonnee: almost ready to speak again.

Black D. 03

Back at their rented house, the local servant boy was offering them some kind of regional soup that looked grody to the max to Gill Alex. He instead stared out toward the sea, which at least they can *see* from this spot, if not visit. “Rain’s coming in again,” he observed. “Had a brief reprieve…” “Between 4 and 6,” Rock completed for him. Always thinking about numbers, he observed himself about his brother-lover. Always 4, always 6. Like clockwork.  The rain just cooperated with what was already in his split hemispheric mind. Thank Gods for the topping golden hair. He could always talk rationally with that; it operated the mouth parts and most of the nose and ears. The eyes he couldn’t control. Gill Alex continued to stare at the sea and become one with it. He kept thinking of the eye they spoke about earlier. Tulsa was typing out her notes on a (regional) computer-typewriter by now, getting ready for a splashy, stormy front page story in the NWES Gazette. Picture here:

self

The Man About Time supposed this was his apartment now, what with the death of Carrcassonnee. He had no one left to take care of. Collagesity was done and over with. NWES is where it’s at; The Current.

I realized that MAT was me in the future. And the past and the present, I suppose. All the colors, well, one (current). Green, I guess. Lime. Olive?

“Why did I call him Jim?” he wondered mildly from his rainbow colored couch, too big for his apartment and probably something he would be getting rid of soon (along, obviously, with the bits and pieces of Carrcassonnee’s body). He has many options. This town is big and wide if lacking depth. But, then again, the town owner, a true neighbor of a guy, is working on the subway it seems. In the meantime: road system disrupted; north cut off from south. It rang a bell too close to home. He must hit it off with this neighbor and not be a (total) stranger. Because he thinks he knows this Guy. Met him on a RR once; talked about Azure Islands. But I’ve speculated before who Guy is. I thought he was Magellen and just gell’n. I thought he was…

The phone rings. Too close to home to answer. Maybe it was under his couch? He’d find out soon enough.

end/beginning

It’s really up to us what to make of this NWES City, thought Harrison Jett in the moment, staring at the canal that runs through the center of it all. Blank slate, he contemplates. Bigfoot, he ruminates. 12 or 13 seasonal victims, depending on the weather and how hard it snows and what she can get away with. But always 12/13. Better get back to the Man About Time and see how poor, sick Carrcassonnee is faring. Displaced again!

—–

“She’s not doing well at all,” offered the Man About Time, keeping watch over the withering, alien figure of a former Collagesity ruler on her last leg. “It’s the lack of center; she’s away from her nourishing tree, her temple. Can’t we…”

“No,” spoke over Harrison Jett plainly. I realized who he might be. An amalgamation. There *must* be some reason why I dwell on all that a lot of the time. I’ve been shut out (!).

“I am who I am,” said Harrison Jett, reading my mind. Another Popeye situation. Speaking of which…

—–

“She’s dead, Jim. What should we do with the eye?”

“Bury it,” spoke Harrison Jett bluntly again. “Wait. We’ll throw it in the canal and let it float downstream. Wait. There is no downstream.”

“Yeah, I was going to add that.”

“It’s all flowing the same way. Nowhere.”

“That’s where we are (!)”

“What a waste of a life.”

“Not waste. It’s up to us to take us somewhere.”

“Exactly what I was thinking earlier on. Before I knew how bad this was getting.”

“Well it’s over now.”

“What about the other, erm, 6 parts. Oklahoma? Olive?”

transformed

Celebrations for Carrcassonnee’s 420th birthday will continue throughout the month I’m assuming. Happy Birthday Oh Great Green One!

Just later we found out that Carrcassonnee herself decided to become the sign, just to switch it out for a while. Her various olive limbs were separated out and tightened or rolled up a bit to become arranged as the numbers — 6 prims both, then. Only the 7th, her *eye*, remains within the Temple of TILE. Until the end of the month that is. Or thereabouts. Everything seems to be “or thereabouts” in this here Urqhart location for Collagesity (or thereabouts).

We must move on from Carrcassonnee for a while until her various limbs are taken back apart, loosened or rolled out a bit, and rearranged into the shape we are all familiar with and placed in the Temple at its regular 3rd floor spot beside Frank. We forget to mention Frank in the last blog entry! Perhaps he will even take over as town deity during Carrcassonnee’s brief absence in this post.

Frank and The Eye.

Frank and The Eye? Just temporary if so. Right Frank? Frank?

demon

The Olive, some called this oval encasement surrounding Carrcassonnee’s lone eye for obvious reasons. A pickle of a concept, because a handful, an *important* handful mind you, considered the encasement to be more meaningful than the eye and said that it should itself become solid. Another handful, larger but less important, stated that the eye and the encasement are equal, and that a balance of solid and transparent is required. Then the 3rd group, largest of all but with lesser voice in power indeed, said to remove the corrupting encapsulation, discard it into The River to float out to The Sea for possible purification but way away from the deity itself. These are The Clears, wishing The Olive never existed.

And then there’s the problem that Carrcassonnee’s eye doesn’t quite fit into The Olive, and a piece of it tends to bulge out from certain angles. This allows The Eye to be manipulated independently from The Olive, which started all this division in the first place. “See?” cried the second, larger group to the first. “Carrcassonnee *wishes* for The Eye to be independent of The Olive.” “We can *shrink* The Eye, just a bit more, so that it will fit inside The Olive and be gone,” returned the first. “Oh, we are *not* allowed to do *that*,” shrieked the third from their weaker but more voluminous corner. “Grow The Eye beyond The Olive. Or, better, throw (The Olive) away! Into The River, into The Ocean.” And so it goes.

Carrcassonnee has some ideas of her own about the heated debate between the 3 groups. “Make me mobile,” she wants to cry out from her fixed position. “Allow *me* to go out and get a *better* eye, a *better* olive to encapsulate it. Then we’ll see what’s what and who’s not.”

She wants the ability to READ her A B C’s and 1 2 3’s correctly.

—–

The analysis is finished. The Nun and The Monk relay their information to The Man About Time, who then concocts an Action Plan. Carrcassonnee must be exercised! But he misunderstood what Brother Joseph and Sister Mary actually said.

fixers

“I feel this is a sinful religion, Sister Mary. God is not colors (!).”

“Not sinful,” replies the perhaps wiser Mary to Brother Joseph. “Simple,” she decides, and looks up toward the minor God that is Carrcassonnee, wondering if they can truly reactivate her today.

She can just see the naked eye, and wonders what happened to the 7th.

—–

The Man About Time was playing one of Schubert’s late piano works when they arrived on the second floor. They were asked in turn to stare at tv static and play with a sand castle before approaching the minor deity still one level up.

—–

“Do your magic,” The Man About Time requested and then stepped aside.

“The 7th is back,” whispered Mary over to Joseph. They knew it was a sign.

“Hellllll-ooooo?”

labyrinth at the Temple of TILE

It was an interesting color pattern and one she would end up studying for many years to come.

Now if I could only get the deity upstairs to speak something sensible. “I” just doesn’t cut it.

I must focus on the cottage that is and isn’t there, thought Golden/Rhiannon in her Goddess Garden. A one eyed deity also exists in the town over there with the tower. I know that the tower is both intact and fallen, and that the 2 town owners are both married and not married. Strange, she ruminated. Like one is absent as well.

I must speak to the deity. If I can.

“What – is – your – name?”

the state of Collagesity…

… is good. Healthy, even.  Mr. Babyface is back at Perch reading his voluminous newspapers at 15 till 3, thinking along these same lines while puffing on his oh-so-smooth Red Dragon tobacco. Night this time: PM. He has that freedom now the head is back where it belongs.

Yes, Perch is back in Carrcassonnee’s nogg’n, but she isn’t quite “fixed” yet per se. The Man About Time and others are working on it. A second one-eyed monster has been purchased on the marketplace as a potential translator, perhaps even — dare I? — a — no, can’t say it. Carrcassonnee rules! But: a little buddy, yes. Frank?

“Frank?” Nothing yet. The Man About Time will try again tomorrow.

The Man About Time playing Carl Nielsen’s “Commotio” for Frank and Carrcassonnee.

What about Wheeler, then, remembering that she took over control of Collagesity late 2016 in a political coupe which seemingly has been reversed with the at least partial reinstatement of Carrcassonnee, the deity she deposed?

She’s okay with it all. But decisions must be made about the Blue Feather. Is this still Wheeler’s “palace” or is it a place owned equally by all the Blue Feather club, which also includes Baker Bloch, Baker Blinker, Hucka Doobie, Karoz Blogger, and the rest of the core avatars? Not just Wheeler: all. Is this what’s happening?

Wheeler and Baker Bloch, the 2 owners of the land the town is situated upon, don’t know yet.

“We don’t know.”

But one thing for sure now is that Collagesity has returned. The town has a true center with the tower bearing its name, a default landmark for all those who enter from the outside.

“Hmph,” voiced visiting Alice Farrowheart from over at NWES (which we’ll return to very shortly). “I wanted to go to the Red Umbrella but instead I land here.” She turns. “Oh, I understand. This is the place where you get to *all* the galleries. Not just one: all.”

“And what about this museum?”

Yes, what about that museum, visiting Alice Farrowheart from over at NWES?

It’s a subject for another day.
