VWX Town: Creek, Road, Seal, More! 02

(continued from VWX Town: Creek, Road, Seal, More! 01)

Although this main road into the heart of VWX Town has been in place for a couple of days, only last night did its formerly gray blocks turn gold and become associated with Elton John’s Goodbye Yellow Brick Road album and also its title track. Check out the juxtaposition of album displaying billboard with the yellow brick road and the similarly golden VWX Town road below it.

And the Goldie statue is also nearby, opposite the side of the road with the billboard.

Back on the Golden Road, we shortly come across a park ranger and his biker friend while heading into the heart of town and its Power Tower Gowlery. For now, the biker, upon responding to the ranger’s question about the location of this gallery, says to just, “Follow those robots!”. This dialog appears as hover text above their heads, which doesn’t show up in “normal” SL photos such as this one.

Last night I rezzed a bridge leading from the end of the Golden Road (just beyond the park ranger and biker) almost directly to the entrance of the Power Tower Gowlery to aid navigation. Seems like a natural, logical addition.

Resting a bit from his creative binging this night, Baker Block takes in the view of the Rubi Forest from the balcony area of the Home o’ Fibs, situated on the west side of my property, and also on the west end of the Tyta sim. Baker looks in a southwesternly direction.

Also added last night is this second bit of Golden Road, mostly covered in grass & ground now. But one must assume that this was a functional road as well some time in the “past”. It points to the grey seal perched on part of the Power Tower Gowlery, directly to its east.

In the other direction (west) the old road seems to lead to this mound mentioned before, topped with yet another golden-ish item within VWX Town: the trojan warrior found in New Pietmond, Pietmond, and elsewhere in my virtual villages down through the years now. Actually I think it may have first been rezzed in 2011-2012 Pietmond, sometime before the new year.

We close with two shots from the Hole in the Wall bar, the first showing Baker Bloch staring out at the Rubi Forest and the Tower of TILE just beyond…

… and the second with him gazing at the head of the long, virtual stream I just concocted.

VWX Town: Creek, Road, Seal, More! 01

This represents one of the few creeks I’ve ever set up on my land, and by far the longest. I don’t have a title for it yet, but does this represent a virtual version of *Whitehead Brook*? More on that in a moment.

Below, Baker Bloch stands at the head of the stream, just below the Hole in the Wall bar of VWX Town (right). Its rock lined flow directly parallels the Linden Road alongside my property, beginning at Rubi 203 254 107 and ending at Rubi 075 255 098. These numbers mean that the stream is 128 meters long (exactly 1/2 a sim!), the beginning and end are precisely east and west of each other, and the stream descends a total of about 9 meters along its course. It also runs along the extreme northern border of the Rubi sim, shared with Tyta.

Below the Hole in the Wall bar, the stream passes beneath the Sink Lair Gallery, then beside the House of Truth, the still unnamed skyscraper gallery with the Wheeler-Jasper collage series, the presently named Norris Temple (name subject to change soon), terminating at the Coolie Building, which is the last building I believe I’ve set up in VWX Town. It appears just to sink into the ground at the corner of this structure, reminding one of the Synching Creek of the S.C.D.M.A. just visited this past weekend by the wife and I.

I should also mention here that the stream has two prominent drops, which logically divides it into 3 parts. The first begins at the head or source — Rubi 203 254 107, again — and ends at Rubi 179 255 102. The second starts at the end of the first (Rubi 179 255 102) and continues to Rubi 090 255 100. The third completes the journey with ranges Rubi 090 255 100 to Rubi 075 255 098. Again interpreting these numbers, it means that the stream kicks off in fashion with an original sloped segment of 24 meters that descends 5 meters, stabilizes within a much longer middle section of 90 meters where it remains relatively flat, and then culminates with another segment of 15 meters where the water drops an additional 2 meters before sinking into the ground at the Coolie Building’s south corner.

Below we find Baker Bloch sitting on the upper porch of the House of Truth, enjoying the stream. The purple crystals mark the end of Drop #1. The House of Truth is also the only structure which directly *faces* the stream. I actually tried to turn the House of Truth away from the flow, but it didn’t seem to work as well. House and stream here appear intimately tied.

If the house *had* been turned the other way, it would have faced another new object in VWX Town: a large grey seal or sea lion perched atop one of the rectangular building segments of the Power Tower Gowlery. In checking it out in real time now, the peak of the gabled house would be directly south of the seal’s head.

Snapshot104_011

This grey seal is obviously, in my mind, a representation of Whitehead Crossing’s pivotal Grey Rock and topping Seal Stone — Grey Seal in toto. More on that soon as well, as the story continues to develop.
