Artie J. Spongeberg enters Collagesity

Not exactly what I expected but here he is… for now.

Snapshot1145_001

He listens to Jim Tom’s tune about Collagesity and smiles internally. He’s ready for action.

Snapshot1145_003

He’s got a cool walk as well.

So here we are:

The reign begins.

Artie J. Spongeberg

A new resident will soon show up in Collagesity. I seem to have a fixed name already: Artie J. Spongeberg. Not Spongenberg, I don’t think. But not Spongberg either. The J stands for Choke Joke. Or a parody. He will be a composer, but has forgotten what he created so far. The compositions, when and if they come, should be real enough. A side benefit is the improvisations, which will also happen hand in hand most likely. Artie will always compose “within the square”. He’ll take a while to develop. An obvious influence is Arnold Schoenberg with his famous 12 tone method. Spongeberg will have a somewhat similar set of rules.

Actual background: Up until even my late 30’s I, baker b., saw myself primarily as a composer. I do not notate or read music. I composed strictly by ear, in both rock and classical genres. My hands remember the pieces and tunes. When I was a freshman in college I started listening to a lot of atonal music, like Schoenberg, like Ives, like Bartok. But mainly, at first, Schoenberg and his famous pupils Webern and Berg. I was also breaking from my tonal past. This also represented a relative dark period in my life, thankfully quite short — a period of about a 1/2 year at best. Afterwards I returned to my naturally sunny self. It was the damned atonal crud affecting me, you see. Or the 12 tone stuff to be more specific. One of the ways I worked through it was to incorporate and transform for easier digestion. Thus was born the CHRO system, which never really circled back to a composing system as I originally intended. It didn’t become a pseudo-replacement for Schoenberg’s 12 tone system. It had a life of its own instead, and also made a bridge between music and art. So for about 1 1/2 years I worked on this system, watching it develop and dimensionalize, and, independent of this, kept creating music by ear in the limited style I was trapped in. This composing style perhaps culminated in what I termed the Antimatter Sonata, which my hands do not remember. Parallel to all this I also began improvising a type of post-atonal classical music with heavier rhythmic disruptions. My goal here seemed to be to leap frog the limitation by partially channeling a future, more fulfilled and less limited composer, communing with the divine when possible. Sometimes it happened. Sometimes it was through a type of free form bird song, a la a Messiaen (just featured in a recent carrcass related post here). But the future composer wasn’t (isn’t) Messiaen. I’ve described him (her?) somewhere as an intelligent squirrel from the 25th Century. But anyways, back to the point, my inability to develop as a proper composer caused a fracture into 3 parts: continued composing by ear (which I’d been doing for about 7-8 years at that point), developing the CHRO system which was potentially an alternate way to compose and also write down music (didn’t happen), and then the improvising.

Later on in my late 30s I returned to composing after about a 10 year gap. The CHRO system had long ago ripened into a tree of latent yet unfulfilled possibilities. Improvisations also resurfaced at this time. This rock-classical style I had developed reached a nature conclusion. Looking back, I am satisfied with this tying up. I have not composed since, and that’s been about 15 years back now. I think it could be time to return to music, however, using a different slant. Parody. Artie J. Spongeberg could be an exciting, new way back in. And the CHRO system is still there, unpotentialized. Perhaps the hands can be retrained. Oh… I forgot I can give links out to the improvisations (!). This is one that might be more accesible than some of the others. Keep in mind I am not a trained musician of any type at all. Here ’tis!

Sunday’s Photos

I stumbled upon what I believe to be part of the “Spite Wall” this day, separating Herman Park from lands to the south. I’ll have to look up the story about this wall soon. I also lost my sunglasses there, but found them upon a return the next day. Lucky me!*

Jupiter Rock on Gene Fade’s Mountain, where he was born and grew up. Yes, Gene is a true, dyed in the blue Jupiton, and he never forgot his roots while at the same time going beyond them.

IMG_0005smaller

A shot of Jupiter Rock’s Red Spot, and the place Hucka D. states was the small “downtown” area just beyond.

IMG_0007smaller

We move back to Herman Park now and Ditchlandia. Only a few of my photos turned out to be blog-worthy of this place on this particular shooting spree, and here we have one of ’em: a pecked tree on the eastern lip of the ditch in question. I would assume this ditch to be an old road of some kind. But if so it’s now bisected by TILE Creek. Was the creek channeled here later on? A distinct possibility given that Drink Lake may have been created after the road.

IMG_0017smaller

Interesting drop of water on TILE Creek basically in line with the ditch/road laying on either side of it. Multi-colored earth here.

A couple of the numerous Ditchlandia hemlocks.

Prominent Ditchlandia rock on the eastern edge, toward Drink Lake and its dam.

Smashed up boat lying just at the bottom of the Drink Lake spillway.

I think it is the same boat found in this verse:

https://bakerbloch.wordpress.com/2014/11/18/stuff-more-maps-02-2/

Then he said that she was a wind, a strong terrible wind, coming out of the darkness of a stormy sea and that he was a boat left on the shore of the sea by a fisherman.

Saturday Photos 02

Top o’ Allen Knob. Shameful “graffiti.” And I recognized that pink-orange spray paint. The same marks the 4th Way into Whitehead Crossing. My theory is that someone is simply trying to take over and control the *whole of Allen Knob”, hook line and sinker, as they say. This would include Whitehead Crossing primarily, but also Norris Stream and the rest. I don’t think I like this. But it may reap rewards down the road. Needed friction or inertia at this spot in the road, you see.

IMG_0089smaller

A view toward the Woods of Howl from near the top of Allen Knob. Very beautiful with its pines. You can just make out the shimmering surface of Frank Lake in the back center of the photo.

IMG_0092smaller

And here we go. Someone is creating an earthen teepee smack dab in the center of my beloved Whitehead Crossing. Now again on the surface I don’t like this. But benefits could come with this unexpected new development later on. For one, it’s certainly not a bad looking structure. Very well done actually, what’s been finished. The top part needs some work still to make the structure livable. Does someone actually plan to stay here for a spell? Perhaps the whole summer? Hucka D. has warned me to stay away from the teepee presently. Let everything unfold naturally and not press matters. Do *not* try to become friends with the person or people in charge of this project. Do not be too Snoopy or Nosey.

IMG_0095smaller

IMG_0096smaller

And they found my 4 Sticks bottles! This *must* mean something. Probably another aspect of the control part. Witches and/or warlocks?

IMG_0097smallest

Back of the teepee, facing away from Mattland below. I forgot to mention that the stone just in front of the entrance, down the cliff, is called *Welcome Matt*. That comes way before the appearance of this teepee however, several years back now. The stone is one of the [insert number] Wonders of Whitehead Crossing. And now we have more to add to its story. Much more! (note: Artie J. Spongeberg has just recognized an image of this rock in several of the Falmouth collages during his recent tour of Fal Mouth Moon)

IMG_0102smaller

Propped up bottles still in 4 Sticks. Might they come back for more? I’m not sure if The Visitors have found Grey Seal yet, or uncovered its significance. Heck I haven’t done that either. But I know the teepee must be in that spot to effect the control. I knew that in the past as well. It’s been there in hyperspace-time all along. 4th Way.

Saturday Photos 01

This is a shot of downtown Notherton, a former Mossman hot bed of action and adventure. Now deserted, supposedly. Main Mossman (Mossmain?) Gene Fade has stated he use to work in its metropolitan area in a 5 sided mall managing a cappery.* I believe his store sold the equivalent of our baseball caps, or at least that was the most popular item. He mentioned a game like baseball, but with extra bases and some other different stuff. Have to look all that up from the Baker Blinker Blog again; the game of Whack-Bat from Fantastic Mr. Fox comes to mind. So much to comb through in these blogs now (!).

Notherton is in Frank Park across The Greenway from nearby Mocksity, another important Mossman community.

IMG_0057smaller

And this is the road leading to Gene Fade’s Mountain to the west, where he was born and raised before moving to Notherton. This is the very highway Gene Fade walked all the way from Jupiter Rock to downtown Notherton after a critical argument with his parents about the TILE religion. You see, Gene Fade desired to become a Tilist and his parents disapproved. He went back to Jupiter Rock, but it was never the same for him. He had opened the box to discover the rest of his life.

IMG_0065smallest

This probably has nothing to do with Gene Fade or Mossmen, but comes from the center of real life community Boulder, surprisingly enough. It looks like it was shot in the middle of nowhere. Boulder has created a new shortcut from its main highway into downtown, and this barren spot is one of the results. Congratulations Boulder and happy motoring to ya.

IMG_0066smaller

Another Boulder shot. You can see TILE Mountain in the background, also known as Yards Mountain to you non-Tilists out there.

IMG_0071smaller

A northern Boulder house with 4 birdhouses painted the colors of TILE: red, blue, green, yellow. Is this the home of a fellow Tilist, then? I believe they would probably have a good view of TILE Mountain from their back windows. Hmmm. Landscaping elements from this house are also found here.

IMG_0076smaller

Bottle tree, also of TILE colors, found in the same yard. Yards?

IMG_0083smaller

A larger rock jutting from the rhododendron just across the road. Another TILE sacred spot? That was my thought at the time of the picture snapping. I couldn’t find a way to get to it, however, through the tangle of bushes. Perhaps I’ll attempt again soon.

* A note about the name Mossmain: Hucka D. has indicated to me this is a title bestowed to actor Gene Fade for work done on the Salad Bar Action-Adventure movies. It stands for what you would presume: he has become the *main* Mossman, the one most talked about and beloved. The Salad Bar Jack flicks are just that popular.

This is *not* like me. Is it?

But I can’t stop watching…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0MsDl39UL0

Okay. I’ve stopped watching. For now.

It might be imperative to have a sense of humor about virtually talking to God or Gods.

I’m reading again…

But the idea of a digital oracle grew out of his earlier methods for talking to God. At first he’d open a Bible to a random page, and it would speak. Yet he had a general sense of where the book had opened, whether he might be choosing from Genesis or Revelation. He began using coin tosses to choose a page number; then he expanded his technique to include all the books in his library. Soon he’d settled on a digital timer for his oracle, AfterEgypt.

Another Triangle:

http://motherboard.vice.com/read/gods-lonely-programmer

He left town. Driving south with no clear destination, he says, “I was listening to the radio and it seemed like the radio was talking to me.” It spouted commentary on everything he did. He believed the end of the world was at hand. His head swam with conspiracy theories and apocalyptic foreboding.

He ended up in Marfa, Texas, where he abandoned his car —a Honda Accord his parents had given him.

* Minimal abstraction is a goal. Sheep are fools. They always respect a design
that is more complicated than another. Any genius can make it complicated.
Like in physics, it takes a supra-genius to make it simple.

Today, Marfa is a tourist destination and a major center for Minimalist art.

I also think of the Twin Towns of Mysten, and the Temple of the Silicon Soul there, near the northeast corner of Siliconicus. I must make a revisit.

https://bakerbloch.wordpress.com/2014/02/02/sl-news-etc/

bb:

Let’s see. Lemon World supposedly started in the sim of Ratzenberger, on Yd Island. That is the original sim; that’s the original island of the world. Then Lower Astra came second. It was doubled Yd Island. In the center grew the first true Second Life community. In the Mysten sim.

Hucka D.:

I will take over now. You know this is a giant green cube of 1024 proportions. Happy it was called[ at the time]. And of course it was accompanied quickly by Unhappy the Red.

Mysten Stone of Sharieland. I think I’ll head over there tomorrow, actually.

Then here’s some of of God’s answers to Davis’ questions. Interesting. Likes Gomer Pile, eh? 🙂 Some funny stuff there, actually. Good job God.

Beginning of the Reign of BOB?

Treaty Time

I didn’t know dieties could go on trips but that’s what Carrcassonnee plans to do. She’s heading to Alice to negotiate a treaty with Kerchal, as she put it. The Bobs are in charge of the town in her absence. Personally I decided I needed to find where Hucka Doobie was inworld. But was that possible?

Snapshot1133_001

I wasn’t sure I liked Carrcassonnee leaving. I felt it was something more permanent than she was letting on. She seemed mad the last time I talked to her. And I don’t mean angry. Does she realize it’s close to the end?

Snapshot1133_010

Is this it for Collagesity? I can’t go that far, I don’t think. I’m inside the early limit of hiking season. Should be a nice Saturday for exploring. Drink Lake will most likely be a destination again. Billfork maybe. Meeting Rock. Hermania. Jonesboro. New Hope. More.

Snapshot1141_001
She turned purple…

Snapshot1141_003
… then was gone.

Snapshot1133_041
We turn to Bobs now?
