Place name: Foote
Description: A post office from 1888-1902, near East End. Named for E.L. Foote, superintendant of the Sligo Furnace Company. It was the site of the first white ware pottery in Missouri and one of the earliest in the Mississippi Valley. Known as the Pool pottery, it was operated by potters from England.
