Extensions 01

The Diagonal seems to be predicted in the Jasper 07 collage from 2009 (“It’s up to us now”), presently hanging in Southside’s Gallery Jack.

Snapshot1183_001

Compare its central long, keyhole shaped image (tiles from the side of a Michigan building) with here:

https://bakerbloch.wordpress.com/2013/08/19/the-14-triplet-points-of-the-diagonal/

16x16grid09

Even the foreground tile of the picture is adorned with a “D” (the logo of the Detroit Tigers, seen on all subsequent tiles as well extending into the background), just as the first sim on The Diagonal is Dierle, and associated with the letter “D” in the above grid diagram and also in the the microcosmic replica of The Diagonal in Westside’s Church of The Diagonal (below pic; far left letter).

Snapshot1089_009

In looking further at Jasper 07, there’s no real doubt in my mind that this *is* a representation of the future, extended version of The Diagonal. Jasper 07 partially concerns — consciously, that is — the early version of The Diagonal, known only in its “Rubi exclusive” state then. See here for an interpretive post concerning Jasper 07, also from 2009.* And see here, once more, for my 2008 series about the Rubi aspect of The Diagonal if you wish.

We switch subjects to VWX Town’s ties to the actual (*non*-virtual) Whitehead Crossing, or “WX” without the “V”, as it were. I see the link now mainly made through the big grey seal perched on a segment of the Power Tower Gowlery, an obvious and also conscious representation of WX’s pivotal Grey Seal (Grey Rock + Seal Stone). The stream below the virtual grey seal may also stand for WX’s Whitehead Brook, Little Whitehead, and No Name Spring one and all, as the Grey Seal rock formation lies relatively close to each.

Snapshot1169_003

Admittedly, there’s a tension between just giving up the virtual version of Whitehead Crossing — which actually has little to do with the real version except for the connections listed just above — and keeping it into October and perhaps beyond. On the one hand, I’m obviously going to be focusing more on the outdoors and Frank and Herman Parks for the next several months, taking time and energy away from Second Life. On the other hand, we have the growing story of The Diagonal, an exterior energy source for VWX Town that ties it to the whole continent of Heterocera and beyond. I’ll just have to play the two directions against each other for a while longer and see what happens. At any rate I’m certainly pleased about progress made on an interpretation of The Diagonal so far. It may even outstrip Jeogeot mysticism (Big E/Schwa, etc.) in the long run. And to close, I’d like to thank my virtual neighbor Veyot for testing out aspects of The Diagonal and calling it a very interesting theory. 🙂

* In the post, I say of this collage and central image the following:

The overall shape of the orange tiled surface, in combination with the circular shape containing the keyhole at the top of the collage, is also keyhole shaped, Hucka D. The shape runs from the very top to the very bottom of the collage. This collage also happens to be 1024 pixels wide and 682 pixels high, making a relationship of 3:2 between the sides. 1024 is the size of the parcel I just rented in Klein, Hucka D [made up, as well, originally of 2 side-by-side 512 parcels]. The middle of the orange tile lies about 512 pixels from either side as well; exact center of the collage left-to-right, then…. This despite the fact that the overall shape of Jasper 07 is not based on any found photo this time, Hucka D. It is instead *tiled* from an edited picture of a toy, found in a search for Rookwood+tiles…

The 14 triplet points of The Diagonal

All but 2 of the 14 sims along The Diagonal contains one and only one point where all 3 location coordinates become the same number. In addition, one sim has 2 that Baker Bloch can identify (Rosieri) and there’s even one Diagonal sim with 3 such points (Tiretta). Even given the exceptions, I’ve still decided to call these numbers the master numbers of any Diagonal sim.

Master numbers that are twinned or almost twinned (within one meter of each other) are bolded in the slurl listings below of each of these spots. Notice that with the exception of Hirtaria near the center of The Diagonal (Hirtaria 15/15/15), *every other* sim starting at the northeast end of it has a twinned master number. Again: interesting.

http://slurl.com/secondlife/Scotopteryx/31/31/31
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Philudoria/60/60/60
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Lanestris/97/97/97
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Hooktip/135/135/135
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Burnet/32/32/32
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Cosmet/23/23/23
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Hirtaria/15/15/15
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Biston/18/18/18
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Miata/37/37/37
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Horisme/115/115/115
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Rubi/97/97/97
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Rosieri/80/80/80
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Tiretta/36/36/36*
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Dierli/5/5/5

The twins are Scotopteryx/31/31/31 (1) and Burnet/32/32/32 (5); Lanestris/97/97/97 (3) and Rubi/97/97/97 (11); and Miata 37/37/37 (9) and Tiretta/37/37/37 (13). Early conclusion: The Rubi Diagonal, strong and sufficient in and of itself in 2008 (seeded by the fixed position of Rubi/97/97/97), has now extended itself across the whole continent in order to survive and thrive, with a major twinned “seed point” being Lanestris/97/97/97. In fact, Lanestris/97/97/97 might have been specifically crafted, as it were, to act as a twin to Rubi/97/97/97, and build upon its potential.

16x16grid09

The Diagonal twisted back upon itself. Profound implications here. The master numbers of each half of the central purple, red and orange sims (colors determined by height of sim, purple being the highest) add up to the same number (60+97+135=192; 80+97+115=192), with the two red sims (Rubi and Lanestris) having the same master number (97). Moreover, the change between the 3 numbers, on each side, is constant (37 between 60-97-135; 17 for 80-97-115). The master numbers of the yellow-green and lower yellow sims add up to the same number (32+23=55; 37+18=55). *And then* the overall number of, moving top to bottom, the orange, red, purple, lower yellow, and yellow-green sims add up to the same number (247). Could this tie into the meaning of the central diamond shapes in Enola Vaher’s desperate woman from “Don’t speak”? Could it relate to the string of yellow submarines Standing Baker is pulling out of the Greenup Gill landscape in Greenup 16? How about Kentucky’s Bee Line found in Herman Park last Fall? — I think that too has to factor in here.

16x16grid09d

* 9:58pm correction:
Baker Bloch was checking Tiretta/37/37/37 just a moment ago and noticed that there is a Tiretta/36/36/36 and also even a Tiretta/35/35/35 location he can position himself in. So Tiretta seems to have *3* master numbers: 35, 36, and 37. This comes about because the bank that the master number positions are on rises about a meter in elevation for every meter increased in both height and width within the sim. There’s almost a Tiretta 38/38/38, but Baker, despite several tries, cannot focus in on this number, nor Tiretta/34/34/34 in the other direction. I’ll make a close inspection of other master number locations along The Diagonal to see if Tiretta’s multiple master number situation is unique. My guess is that it will be. It would have to be a similar situation — a bank with similar qualities at the right location in any sim.

Oh fudge.
Snapshot1173_007

10:23pm update:

Hucka Doobie has very cleverly rezzed a row of cubes showing the progression of the triplet diagonal number on the Tiretta bank in question, one meter at a time. For him, the triple number appears at 34/34/34 (foreground cube), because of his lower stature. Baker Bloch is more a normal sized avatar, and for him he can manifest the master number of the sim now at 35, 36, and 37 positions. One can assume a taller avatar would have additional master numbers of 38 and 39 (back cubes in the below pic) and perhaps beyond.

Snapshot1175_004

Snapshot1175_005

Further notes:

For the considerably shorter Hucka Doobie, the master number of Philudoria appears to be 59 instead of 60, 96 instead of 97 for Lanestris, 31 instead of 32 in Burnet, 22 instead of 23 in Cosmet, 14 instead of 15 in Hirtaria, 79 instead of 80 in Rosieri (Baker Bloch has also discovered he can position himself at Rosieri/79/79/79 with some effort). We’ve already discussed the more complicated situation in Tiretta, where Hucka Doobie seems most stable at 34/34/34. Then in Dierli, we have another loss of a meter for the master number in terms of Hucka: 4/4/4 instead of the 5/5/5 for Baker Bloch.

The Diagonal — More Studies 01

Image found when googling “The Diagonal” using image option. Compare to Vaher’s “Don’t speak” again.

14589036-the-white-man-spread-his-hands-apart-on-the-diagonal-isolated-on-white-background

Let’s start moving down The Diagonal now beginning at the northeast corner to take pictures of the specific triple coordinate points for each sim. First up: Scotopteryx. About the only distinguishable item I can find to speak of here is that this occurs on Linden owned land (Route 5)…

http://slurl.com/secondlife/Scotopteryx/31/31/31

Snapshot1169_007

… as does the next triple point in my present home sim of Philudoria, this time next to a Linden owned rr.

http://slurl.com/secondlife/Philudoria/60/60/60

Snapshot1169_009

My land in Philudoria, with Westside in the foreground and a bunch of new land for sale behind it and to the left. However, because The Diagonal passes through Westside, I’m not tempted to buy the land currently to create a “Northside” for VWX Town to replace Westside. Westside is certainly still engaging my attention, as is The Diagonal as a whole with the new set of discovered triple coordinate numbers or now so-called master numbers of each involved sim.

Snapshot1169_004

http://slurl.com/secondlife/Lanestris/97/97/97

The Lanestris triple coordinates of 97/97/97 is the first, starting at the northeast corner once more, to be placed on non-Linden land. Instead it is owned by the Virtual Chelsea Hotel group. As such, the 3rd coordinate of the triplet — elevation — is subject to change at the whim of this group within the plus 4 meter/minus 4 meter range of terrain editing allowed in the sim (default terraforming for mainland sims as a whole). One would have to revert the land to original conditions (i.e., Linden default terrain) in order to determine the true elevation here. But the point is that the triple coordinate could change in the sim, unlike Scotopteryx and Philudoria before it — given that the Lindens don’t re-terraform their own land in each case.

The now infamous Lanestris triple coordinate is a twin to Rubi’s identical 97/97/97, which we’ll briefly review in part 02 of 02 of this post series. Unlike the Lanestris triplet, the Rubi triplet *does* exist on Linden land, and is therefore likely “fixed” on this particular spot, just as the case with Scotopteryx/31/31/31 and Philudoria/60/60/60. These are one of two exactly twinned triple coordinates of The Diagonal as a whole as it currently exists. We’ll get to the second set of twins in part 02 of 02 once more.(9/20/13: the story of these twinned coordinate points has changed a bit with the introduction of Hucka D.’s Bank of Despair in Tiretta; see here).

Snapshot1067_001

Currently you cannot directly teleport into what appears to be the triple coordinate point of Hooktip, the sim next on The Diagonal. Instead you’ll have to walk over to it through your chosen avatar. The triplet is located on Hooktip Yards and VRC Grand Central Station property. To remind: the Hooktip train station itself is almost centered upon The Diagonal. See here for an interesting post by my VWX Town neighbor Veyot about a trip starting at this very station and ending in Deirli, which also just happens to be a Diagonal sim.

http://slurl.com/secondlife/Hooktip/135/135/135

Snapshot1169_011

After Hooktip, The Diagonal begins to descend toward the Heterocera continent’s central, large lagoon, losing elevation in the process. Hooktip 135/135/135 in fact appears to be the highest point on The Diagonal as a whole. Only one sim down, our apparent triple point, Burnet/32/32/32, has lost over 100 meters in elevation.

http://slurl.com/secondlife/Burnet/32/32/32

At this spot, Baker Bloch finds himself in the middle of the “Washburne (Washtown)” property, defining itself as a space port, a fact borne out by the presence of several star ships and hangers in the immediate vicinity. The octagonally shaped Joe’s Garage is to his northeast. A synchromystic Frank Zappa reference?

Snapshot1169_012

Hmmm… maybe the spaceport’s actual name now is Shadowrim, and the land description has not been updated to reflect this change. Interesting flag.

Snapshot1169_013

Next up is the sim Cosmet, and the triple point in this case lies on land called Cosmet Corner. Curiously, the triple coordinate is positioned on the opposite side of the 784 sq. meter parcel from the sim’s corner here; this may also be meaningful in the overall Diagonal story.

http://slurl.com/secondlife/Cosmet/23/23/23

Snapshot1169_016

We end part 01 of this 2 part series in Hirtaria, the next sim down on The Diagonal with a triple coordinate point of 15/15/15. This is the second lowest triplet on The Diagonal.

http://slurl.com/secondlife/Hirtaria/15/15/15

Snapshot1163_006

Hirtaria is a Linden owned water sim making up a section of the continent’s central lagoon system, as is Biston to follow.

Southside, Westside

I’ve noticed Enola Vaher’s “Finely Torn Id” Gallery in VHC Town is frequently advertised on Sasun Steinbeck art kiosks in the last year or two, specifically a signature art work within her gallery depicting a female figure, her mouth sewn shut with a string or thread she also holds in both extended hands. It reminds me of a long piece of dental floss, positioned in this manner. Knowing that Vaher’s gallery lies next to and is directly identifiable with The Diagonal, I found myself wondering if this string/thread, this line — held diagonally across the picture after all — could be psychically associated with this much larger virtual line extending across the Heterocera continent, another microcosm of that macrocosm as we have now in the Church of the Diagonal.

Snapshot1157_001

As Baker Bloch is checking now by visiting the “Finely Torn Id” gallery in person, the work is called “Don’t speak”. I’m inserting a detail of the picture below he just took, or I just took through him. 🙂 Notice the stitching through the mouth takes the form of a row of diagonal diamonds (5 in all), just like the sims of The Diagonal would make the same (14 in that case). I may return to this thought after further study.*

Snapshot121_001

As you can also see from the first picture above, my kiosk in Southside’s Power Tower Gowlery was depicting this very picture the night I decided to check out the sewing in it more closely. While there, Baker also took — or, once again, me through Baker — a picture of the long row of second story “windows” shared between the Power Tower Gowlery and neighboring Gallery Jack, more indication of the interdependence of the two. One could say the two speak to each other, and that this is a sort of symbolic “mouth” in itself (!)

Snapshot1157_003

Baker sits on the bridge across the stream just outside the Power Tower, pondering the meaning of its source at the northeast corner of Gallery Jack now. The stream seems to be another way to connect my two Southside galleries. This unnamed stream, in fact, is about the only thing in Southside now *besides* the galleries, since they occupy so much space there.

* Appropriate, perhaps, that the picture next to “Don’t speak” in Finely Torn Id is called “Food for Thought”, and these 2 art works appear in the back center of the gallery, as we can tell by peering into the front door and judge by the skull pictured on the floor. “Food for Thought” also contains a skull, and the man in the picture (partner to the woman beside him?) is eating “thoughts” out of it.

VWX Town Stuff 02

Another attempt at a structure to honor The Diagonal, like the earlier Green Arena spoken about here. This Ling creation is called a cimema. Fantastic stuff…

Snapshot119_008

… but I decided, after a number of attempts and experiments, to settle on his ML Tower 19, with results to date below.

The 14 letters Baker sits in front of here represent the beginning letters of the 14 sims The Diagonal passes through. These are explained here. To either side of him we have pictures of 097 097 097 Rubi (left) and the obviously twinned 097 097 097 location in Lanestris (right), where he stands in front of the Poisoned Purple House/Tower, the pitch black center of VHC Town, it seems (a black hole). The larger pillar in the middle, standing at 118 118 049 Philudoria, represents the center of The Diagonal between water sims Biston and Hirtaria. The smaller, twinned pillars at each end of the row of letters representing The Diagonal mark its beginning in 000 000 Deirli and end in 256 256 Scotopteryx. They are the Alpha and Omega pillars, then. Physically here, they stand at 111 111 048 and 125 125 048 Philudoria respectively. Let me add this up… this means that this abstract representation of The Diagonal is, well it’s easy — it’s 1/256 the length of the entire Diagonal. How about that. And to reinforce, this representation is *on* The Diagonal itself, a microcosm of a macrocosm.

Emerald/Lime

Hucka D.:

You are correct. The salvation of VHC Town and then your attached VWX Town — because it is, yes, The Moon to VHC Town’s Earth… you can insert your picture here if you wish.

bb:

Thanks, Hucka D. But go ahead and finish that thought.

Hucka D.:

As I was saying… stating… the salvation…

bb:

There’s Cardboard Derek Jones coming into the room!

Hucka D.:

Hmmm… I didn’t hear him. Where’s the picture?

bb:

Later, Hucka D. CDJ is here!

Hucka D.:

Yeah. Hi CDJ.

CDJ:

Hi! Helloooooo. I’m so darn happy. Am I on drugs? No! Not now. I’m happy because VWX Town is one now! Central has given in!

bb:

I thought you wanted Westside independent from Central and also Southside, CDJ, the two other parts of VWX Town.

CDJ:

Not any longer. We have The Diagonal and we thus control the town. And it will always be that way. Floydada is the salvation of VHC Town.

Hucka D.:

He’s right. That’s not what I was going to say but he’s right.

bb:

Hmm. I was going to guess, Hucka D., that you were going to say that the Emerald Tablets contained information necessary to the salvation of VHC Town.

Hucka D.:

No… yo… no.

CDJ:

They are the same!

bb:

Maybe we better take a look at Floydada. Is it back in Westside, then, CDJ?

CDJ?

Yes! As of this post. Let’s go take a look.

(We went to take a look; Hucka D. bowed out, saying he had breakfast at Tiffany’s.)

More Underground VHC Town…

VHC Town’s underground seems quite vast with many twists and turns and surprises.

Snapshot1077_001

The underground contains not one but several different sewer systems. Baker finds a hobo hangout in a room in one of ’em.

Snapshot1077_002

Snapshot1077_009

Baker locates a copy of the alchemical Emerald Tablets stuck in the ground at one point. I’ll quote the first few paragraphs of its huge, attached notecard at the end of this post.*

Snapshot1077_010

Snapshot1077_013

Walls of many textures. Perhaps not intended to be cool but pretty cool still.

Snapshot1077_017

Underground beauty spot found in a previous visit.

Snapshot1077_020

Baker finds the above ground source of the stream just visited. Nice. I might even create a map of VHC Town and its underground soon. Come to think of it, I need to do the same for my VWX Town.

Snapshot1077_022

Baker is able to grasp (i.e., “wear”) a basketball but still has no way to play. This is in extreme northern Bembecia, above the galleries and in a grittier part of town.

Snapshot1077_023

Shifting away now from VHC Town, this night also finds Baker Bloch visiting the Water Tower located in Lythria’s Zoo of All Things, owned by blogger Simple Wunderich. Better shots of the tower start here in Simple’s flickr site. The zoo lies not far northeast of VWX Town, and also directly north of VHC Town. It’s in the neighborhood.

Snapshot1077_026

Lastly, Baker decides to drop in on a friend’s house in southern Heterocera he hasn’t seen before. Another beautiful atoll location.

* The Emerald Tablets of Thoth – Preface

The history of the tablets translated in the following pages is strange and beyond the belief of modern scientists. Their antiquity is stupendous, dating back some 36,000 years B.C. The writer is Thoth, an Atlantean Priest-King, who founded a colony in ancient Egypt after the sinking of the mother country.
He was the builder of the Great Pyramid of Giza, erroneously attributed to Cheops. In it he incorporated his knowledge of the ancient wisdom and also securely secreted records and instruments of ancient Atlantis.
For some 16,000 years, he ruled the ancient race of Egypt, from approximately 52,000 B.C. to 36,000 B.C. At that time, the ancient barbarous race among which he and his followers had settled had been raised to a high degree of civilization.
Thoth was an immortal, that is, he had conquered death, passing only when he willed and even then not through death. His vast wisdom made him ruler over the various Atlantean colonies, including the ones in South and Central America.
When the time came for him to leave Egypt, he erected the Great Pyramid over the entrance to the Great Halls of Amenti, placed in it his records, and appointed guards for his secrets from among the highest of his people.
In later times, the descendants of these guards became the pyramid priests, by which Thoth was deified as the God of Wisdom, The Recorder, by those in the age of darkness which followed his passing. In legend, the Halls of Amenti became the underworld, the Halls of the gods, where the soul passed after death for judgment.
During later ages, the ego of Thoth passed into the bodies of men in the manner described in the tablets. As such, he incarnated three times, in his last being known as Hermes, the thrice-born.
In this incarnation, he left the writings known to modern occultists as the Emerald Tablets, a later and far lesser exposition of the ancient mysteries.
The tablets translated in this work are ten which were left in the Great Pyramid in the custody of the pyramid priests. The ten are divided into thirteen parts for the sake of convenience.

More clues

Green-ish spot on wall near VHC Town’s central Purple Tower.

Another part of underground VHC Town, found remotely while Baker Bloch was still standing in front of the purple tower at Lanestris 097 097 097:

Related link and quote:

Overhead VHC Town, with “black hole” in middle. The 097 097 097 spot is just to the west of its plain but also clearly poisonous purple tower.

Snapshot1073_017

In the same area is another freebie box, offering a green texture. It appears to be the nearest freebie box to the Poison Violet offering.

Related link and quote in this case:

https://bakerbloch.wordpress.com/2013/07/28/rgb-color-code-related-to-the-diagonal-specifically-through-097-097-097/

The approx. rgb color of the 20 prim purple tower house situated directly in front of 097 097 097 Lanestris is 051 000 051. It seems to be very dark purple, with mainly even parts red and blue but little to no green.

Mouseview from Bembecia 208 208 097, which is then on another sim diagonal, and parallel to *The* Diagonal running through Lanestris to its immediate east. Notice this is also at elevation 097, just like the now infamous 097 097 097 location in Lanestris.

Baker now stands at Bembecia 202 202 096, still on a sim diagonal. He can follow this particular diagonal no further within the room.

RGB Color Code related to The Diagonal (specifically through 097 097 097)?

We have to have 3 codes, 1 to 255, to create a rgb color, which we do with length, width (and most likely height) of any SL sim location (same codes of 1 to 255 for length and width, with 256 reverting back to 0). Here’s the color for 097 097 097, which is a variation of gray:

097097097a

Here’s the colors 000 000 000 to 255 255 255 in increments of 032. This forms a stepped continuum of black through various grays to white:

097097097b

The approx. rgb color of the 20 prim purple tower house situated directly in front of 097 097 097 Lanestris is 051 000 051. It seems to be very dark purple, with mainly even parts red and blue but little to no green.
