“Do you think I’m beautiful, Horace?”

“Duuuh, *I’m* not Horace,” she imagines the graffiti face behind her saying in a fumbling, bumbling voice.

“Sure you are. And you play drums. Just like me.”

“Deeer, *no* you don’t.”

“Sure I do. Ever heard of a little album called ‘Demon Days’? Check it out. Drums, guitar, singing, you name it. I can do it all, Horace on the wall behind me. I’m *brilliant*. Just look me up in New Mexico.” But then she knew not to say more about that angle.

“Duuur, Mexico?”

“Close, very close,” she decides to answer Horace’s misunderstanding of her words. “Anthony,” she pinpoints a fake location, on the opposite side of the state from where she was thinking before. Touching Mexico, yes, but actually in NM and TX both, a 3 ‘n 1 she could hide in 4 years if needed. She knew the dual city would confuse and confound the less nimble brained Horace if he did any follow up research, which was doubtful anyway (she continues to imagine).

“Deee–”

The me in front of 2nd Phase Noodle breaks in here to reminds her that she needs to cut her bangs to see better, no matter how cool this early look be.

“(The ASUMH library entrance is) 7.00 miles from Arkana, 7.00 miles from Arkawana with the WA left behind in the attached, sad sad Robina crime spree story. Concrete (WA) again? Might be pressing it there.”

“Silver,” listening Wendell Biff Carter attempts an explanation of his own. “Silver = seven; you pointed that out before.”

“Could be,” admits Shelley, still on the bench, still beneath and hiding under and even within Noodle looming o’er her. Always.

“It’s good you didn’t come out from under the lamp,” Biff tries to summarize their talk so far.

“But later, I mean… when you were able to turn around and face the music. Miss Ouri had taken over *everything*.”

“Oh… right. But not quite everything,” she corrected for Biff, her manager, her… friend? Let’s go with manager for a while longer. “There was my saving grace,” she said. “I escaped through the island newly formed off the coast of mainland. (The) 4 (Apocalyptic) horses reduced to 2….”

“What happened to your husband Arthur anyway?” Biff begins a related topic, bit of jealousy in his tone along with a bit of hope. Could it work between them? Nah — and he tried to shove that thought out of his head. “Last I heard: Oceania.”

“He’s still there. Playing the role of Godzilla or sumtin at Point Nemo which is the furthest location away from dry land in the whole wide world. He literally followed his lucrative paying roles to the end of the Earth, as far away from my loving arms as he could get, *sigh*. I guess all he has left now is either turn around and come home to me or go off to a different planet altogether. The louse.”

Ah HA, I think from beyond the wall. Explains a lot!

POP-POP. “Huh, *whaaatt*?” Noodle stops trying to brake the Grand Theft Auto car she stole to set all this in motion. Because it was braking itself. Flat tire. 2 of ’em! How could this be happening??

The negatively oriented, vaporous pink creature escapes out the back just like a steady stream of released air. The cause! And also, maybe, just maybe, the solution. Plastic Beach. We move forward instead of backwards in the related Gorillaz series of videos. Or perhaps both in one, blue and red together. Time machine as well as song machine.

Murdoc removes his mask and emits a gasp as he looks around from his landing spot in the chaos.

All the band members have been reassembled here on the oh-too-familiar, blood red beach except one, the most important one now, the driver of it all.

(*Expel*). There she is! Tucked safely inside giant Russel’s mouth all along. Thank the God’s pink heaven.

A coral topped, scaly skinned Godzilla type monster rises out of the ocean determined to end this abominable mountain of pollution in the middle of absolute nowhere… again.

Let the lasering commence! TBC?

“Why does it have to be pink, Murdoc!?” shouts straw hat wearing Noodle up to her cult leader who’s also the bassist in her band. “The obelisk I mean!” She points toward it but Murdoc doesn’t see this or respond, still training his binoculars on the pool next door and its own bathing beauty of a person. Blue Moon, I mean Blue Flower… ahem, I mean *Moon Flower*, leader of her own cult as it turns out. Who has her own similarly size obelisk already painted blue, several in fact. From her angle, Noodle hasn’t seen this since it lies in the future. She’s only started her study as scholar of the cult, with the most important book still unread just beyond the tips of her pink painted toenails. “Masks.”

“Hurry up, 2-D! Why isn’t it finished already!” Murdoc barks down in the present, prying his eyes away from his target and toward another one. Pink vs. blue, then, just like with the battles of the sexes made famous in that 70’s tennis match between Billy Jean King and Bobby Riggs at the Possum Pouch Astro Dome in Arkansaw Texas. Substituting one for the other. Doesn’t have to be that way. Noodle knows.

Library eyes? Not quite yet.

“Obviously he (Koolaid Man) got sent to the Abyss. You have me, you don’t need to go there any more. No matter how harmless it might present itself as; no need to waste energy on it. You had Andersson for a long time, a tighter focus. She’s pleased (that you let her go); a great number of people get trapped in lesser Babylons like that — no real harm done long term. The *Abyss* Abyss is different. You know. You *feel*.”

Noodle remained a way out, I gathered. Noodle and Shelley and Shelley and Noodle in one as I continue to link up with Gorillaz. Concrete, but with flowers and such sprouting up between the forming cracks. Both grew up in front of our watching eyes. But it also seems to me that Shelley wants me to let her go — eventually. Have to think about that.

“I think it’s painfully obvious that I’m Noodle in this scenario,” lead singer Shelley Johnston Struthers spoke over to band manager Wendell Biff Carter, out on a break from rehearsing, their third of the night. Lots of STOPS and GOS for this one, like in a heated game of Mille Bornes. Trouble. Friction. Inertia. No one could even decide which band members were present or not. Sometimes Sherwood was a kid and other times a fully functional adult, albeit a brilliant drummer at whatever age he appeared. Things were in FLUX.

“Okay, I agree,” said Biff, thinking of all the changes and shifts and sputterings too. “We’ll make that another concrete truth of the blog and attached photo-novel,” he said, but, again, that’s probably me talking through him. So let’s leave out that sentence and say Biff merely agrees with Shelley on her statement. She is Noodle. She’s also Pink tonight. He approves of both. Then he brings up a subject he knew he shouldn’t broach.

“Listen, Shelley. I’ve been doing some research. Staying a classical, so-called non-mesh avatar is fine. But it seems people who choose to follow that path with their outward appearance at least get new and improved mesh hands and feet. I wouldn’t touch the head, though.” He looks over at her head, thinks of the smile (not currently present upon it, though), that beautiful innocence. No, leave the head for sure.

Shelley looks down at her extremities. “I’m not changing *anything*.” She was stubborn about remaining classical. She also likes classical vegetation, builds. Helps reduce lag. What’s not to like? She’s been around long enough to remember the good old days and the excitement of Our Second Lyfe when it was relatively fresh and new… and *non-mesh*. That excitement is still there but in pockets instead of an overall vibe. You have to dig a bit more these days.

“I *do* like the pink,” says Biff, trying to smooth over his mistake. We can build up from that, he thinks. Whatever happens, I’m *not* going back to the restaurant business. TBC

She was in control of the BAND now, in the driver’s seat, this brilliant lead guitarist named Noodle from the Orient who had grown up before our very watchful eyes. With the finishing of the game above this one called Grand Theft Auto version 5, she slowed down their high speed, way too high to be sustainable long term. Sloow (*brake*) slooow (brake brake brake). She checked the speedometer. Right at 50, just inside the limit defined by the Mille Bornes card laid down to end it all. Right where we are now.

But there were problems at the rear still, a stowaway from the beginning of their journey, a carryover from the Gorillaz video coming before this one. Pink Phantom. With the slowing down of the car the vaporous, negatively oriented creature was able to slip out and make her escape to the past, freedom reclaimed. Interesting time loop created if so; I’ll have to think about that one further. TBC

Leftover maps, Arkansas and Kentucky.

Arkansas first — Pope County.

Relevant names so far: Solo, Gabriel, Russellville, Pottsville, Scottsville, Alpha

Relevant info: Solo + Gabriel as in Peter Gabriel’s solo career where he escapes Lamb (Genesis’ towering achievement “The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway” double concept album) via, originally, the single “Solsbury Hill”. Pottsville as in Gorillaz’s 2-D whose last name is Pot without the extra T, Scottsville reinforcing Pottsville by being directly north of it. Russellville as in Gorillaz’s Russel without the extra L. Alpha down at the bottom already paired with just off the map Omega in this here photo-novel to represent core avatar Wheeler who was created last but has become the first in importance, the heart of the process.

Kentucky next — Hopkins County. A direct continuation.

Relevant names this time: Silentrun, Mortons Gap, Anson, Ansonia, Hanson.

Relevant info this time: Silentrun Ck. is alternately named Lambs Ck., as in Gorillaz’s “Silent Running” video with 2-D wearing a Lamb t-shirt and being sacrificed as such by the Forever Cult to their underground Lord of Darkness. This is Gabriel who didn’t escape Lamb and remained with the Genesis band. Mortons Gap as in the location of one of Barry De Boy’s “Does This Look Square to You?” series of collages seen in section 05 I believe. A stand-in for my last personal collage ever, perhaps, also directly related to Genesis (using “Foxtrot” album cover coming a bit before “Lamb”). Ansonia as in Charles Anson, similar to Gorillaz’s Manson and likewise a hater of the band he use to work for and trying to prevent them from forming in the first place through some kind of time machine, with similar names Anton and Hanson nearby to reinforce the association.

Getting that out of the way we can continue…

Heavily pink clad Murdoc bursts into the emergency room, revealing himself as the savior. It took a while for the other band members to catch on but eventually they fell in line 1-2-3-4, as he knew they would. The Last Cult took form from that moment on, 4 down to 1 actually, backwards from what would be assumed. Murdoc was the Omega who had become the Alpha as end meets up with beginning again, bad tendencies transformed. Or so they thought.

But soon he was back to his old ways, spying on scantily blue clad neighbor Moon Flower through binoculars at their new, suspiciously cheap Silver Lake digs. He had to have her. This was his *dream* girl.

Ultimately — laying down all the cards — she passed him the choker “Under the Silver Lake”. TBC
