Askja again

Old Mabel couldn’t stay away from Corsica and its mysterious Askja. Shortly before dawn again, she arrived at the scene of the crime and, 1) purchased a drink from the now working Neurolab vending machine, 2) accidentally reset a chess game that had manifested on the table Snowmanster was last seen at, and, 3) bought an advertised collection of thimbles from the motel next door.

snapshot8608_002

Next she found a parcel called “Giants at the Door Band”, not far from the center of the sim where a *giant* (i.e., Brenda) had arrived just days before and helped opened a door or window or something into the room where Snowmanster apparently burned to death. She enjoyed their green and yellow beanstalk ride while there, which shot her up about 120 meters to a cloud with no giant atall inside. Still quite fun, and, besides, she knew who the *real* giant was, even if said giant didn’t know who *she* was any longer. A very strange turn, but one of many currently going down in Collagesity now. Here’s the Giants at the Door band’s facebook page:

She has a name:

Old Mabel had trouble getting to sleep. She kept thinking of poor Snowmanster and Spongebub and Snowbob. She decided to teleport back to the room where it happened. She simply typed “Ask” to find the location. Interesting.

snapshot8602_004

“That woman over there must have seen it all,” she says while within. “Ma’am, are you alive?” No answer.

“What’s she staring at?” Old Mabel moved her camera angle behind the slut’s head.

snapshot8602_005

“The drink machine? Hmmm, no drinks within.”

snapshot8602_019

Then it dawned on Old Mabel as the sun sphere touched the horizon. Opening!

Around Lower Austra 02

John Lockfry 02 reported back to me yesterday that the small Baddest cemetery with so many interesting angles of investigation has simply disappeared into thin air in the meantime. I suspected this would happen, however, since the graveyard existed on abandoned land at the time. It may take up to a week or two for objects to be returned to you after abandoning land, but it will happen. Things have changed from olden days. Still I was able to snap some pictures before the deletion. The cemetery, in death, still remains fresh and pertinent for continued BoBylon research. We will most likely come back to it for more *meaning*.

Snapshot8123_001

Lockfry 02 then flies over to nearby Mystenopolis, where he meets up with Spongeberg Resident. Spongeberg notes that Lockfry has arrived Christ-like, with arms extended.

Snapshot8124_001

They sit in Spongeberg’s Magic Square of 12×12 and discuss recent Bobylon developments. Spongeberg reinforces to John that he can come here for refuge any time he likes, thinking back specifically to the faune as he glances over his shoulder. “An-y time,” he repeats again.

Snapshot8123_003

Meanwhile Baker Bloch is being attacked by a sentient pumpkin over in Asha on the Corsica continent, another old hangout.

Snapshot8127_002

Dodging the nuisance, Baker then walks into one of the village’s small shops to discover this David Bowie painting.

BoB(ylon) Investigations: Notes 01

isleofbabylon01
c2004 exodus of Isle of Bablyon (aka Yd Island) to BoB?

Nautilus continent related links on the Baker Blinker Blog (2008-2012) and Sunklands Blog (2012-present):

https://bakerblinker.wordpress.com/category/nautilus-continent/

https://bakerbloch.com/category/second-life/nautilusphilo/

In the Sunklands blog, this category includes information on Nautilus City. For the Baker Blinker Blog, NC was considered separate from the proximate continent.

Almost half of the BB Blog posts with Nautilus continent as a subject deal with the Austra peninsula, especially Lower Austra centered by what I now call Mystenopolis, a basically dormant berg however (nothing new there for Second Life), but bustling in its day, probably around 2006-2009 our time. The other half basically illuminate the neighboring Yd Island. These are the last two settled regions of the Nautilus continent (if you exclude Nautilus City), with Yd Island being the final area populated.

The Ratzenberger sim on the west side of Yd Island, directly above Nautilus City island and about the same size, is widely considered the beginning of *Lemon* Lab’s Second Life as opposed to Linden (Limey) Lab’s 2002 start in the sim of Da Boom. We believe that Ratzenberger is a kind of mirror sim for the latter, and founded about the same “time”. The name of this virtual reality is Lemon World — or perhaps World of Lemon. It truly exists, although in some kind of alternate dimension and originating from an *alien* source instead of a terrestrial one, radiating outwards from the opposite direction as our Second Life, in effect.

Big Sink, Moa 02

This Oct 2009 post brings first mention of Ratzenberger to the BB Blog, along with first mention of Yd Island as a whole. I now know from a more recently discovered map (top of present post) that Yd Island may also have been known as the Isle of Babylon.

The region of Lower Astra (or what might just have been called Astra at the time), was about 2x the size of either Yd Island or Nautilus City isle. It appears immediately west of them, and extends as a longer peninsular from the center of Nautilus continent. In the center of this peninsula, as stated before, was and still kind of is Mystenopolis.

Leemington and Yello sims at the top of (Lower) Astra, according to Hucka D., are trace names of Lemon Lab/Lemon World influence. Like a yellow lemon.

Another link about Da Boom and the emergence of Second Life from Linden World.

Some people have compared the name Da Boom to the Big Bang of Second Life, the beginning ylem seed from which all expanded. This would be correct, although its name, along with others of the 16 original SL sims, actually comes from alleyways surrounding the original Linden Lab location in San Francisco.

How, then, is Ratzenberger a twin to Da Boom, as Lemon World/World of Lemon is a corresponding mirror reality to Second Life? It exists in a dimension going backwards from us according to our flow of time. This was obviously set up by the aliens, whoever they are.

In Nov 2009, resident blog spirit and wise guy Hucka D. begins to compare the layout of Second Life’s 6 major mainland continents (subtracting the later, unfinished Gaeta — another story there) to these 6 differently colored pie pieces of the trivia pursuit board game, with each standing for a particular subject matter within the game such as history, geography, arts and entertainment, and so on.

Snapshot1034_025

We later found out that there is a direct lineup of newer continents in what we can call the eastern hemisphere with older ones from the western hemisphere as follows:

Heterocera (western/old) to Corsica (eastern/new)
Sansara (western/old) to Nautilus (eastern/new)
Jeogeot (western/old) to Maebaleia (eastern/new)

This would also correspondend to their north-south relationship within each hemisphere. That is, both Corsica and Heterocera are the northernmost continents of their respective hemispheres, Sansara and Nautilus are in the middle, and Jeogeot and Maebaleia lie to the south.

Hucka D. even gives them colors:

Heterocera: orange
Sansara: brown
Jeogeot: green
Maebaleia: yellow
Nautilus: pink
Corsica: blue

To give a prominent example of the links, it was found by me in August 2009 there existed a *rabbit hole* style portal connecting Jeogeot and Maebaleia — rather shocking at the time — and also linked back to the last created *carrcass* (as they’re called now), or what is more commonly known to the outside world as an audiovisual synchronicity. I can now say this synchronicity is named “Uncle Meatwad.” The number 47 (or 41) was found next to the hole on the Maebaleia side. “Uncle Meatwad” features a Room 47 inhabited by 3 rabbits, 2 of the female persuasion and 1 male. What times are it?

BoB Flaws

The center of Jorondip: a pretty nondescript garage.

Snapshot2600_026

In the same sim: tree for a tree (pet). There’s a question of whether an independent gallery (left) personally created by Baker Bloch would serve better than a rental unit for at least the start of the projected Bogota collage series.

Snapshot2600_029

Main Street, BoB. Not a heck of a lot here. More than most places in Second Life for certain, but still…

Snapshot2600_033

Another possibility for the “Birthplace of Bogota” is VHC City, with VHC standing for Virtual Hotel Chelsea, by far the largest structure in the approximately 2 sim city occupying an eastern location on the Heterocera continent. A good number of galleries already exist in the berg.

Snapshot2594_003

And there’s plenty of hideaways for relaxing and taking in the scenes.

Snapshot2594_004

In the large underground passages of VHC City, Baker Bloch stumbles upon a hidden stash of nuggy.

Snapshot2594_007

Snapshot2594_008

A defined sinkhole exists just east of the town, something Baker had missed before. Mark it down as the *second* known sinkhole of Heterocera, with the first being in the aptly named Sikkima sim just below my Collagesity in Minoa. This is an interesting find…

Snapshot2594_012

Heterocera is a very picturesque continent.

Snapshot2594_026

This snapshot comes from the Corsica continent, specifically the sim of Asha where Baker was pleased to find out he could erect his Gloomy Gus home and perhaps start hanging around the Asha hills again a bit.

Snapshot2594_028

I think I snapped this Nautilus map picture at a BoB airport. Notice that what I call Yd Island is instead named the Island of Babylon here (center of map). Not sure why. And also the sea I call The Scorpion is named Star Fish Lake (top of map), obviously for its tentacled appearance.

CHRO is red

Snapshot7777_002

Snapshot7777_003

Maybe Baker can draw inspiration from Rubisea and the Blue Drake sim, which still contains many of the scenic elements he enjoyed while staying there in the past. This appears to include the entire Unnasty Branch he rented a cottage near in 2009 I believe, the lone feeder stream for the Rubisea body of water. Rubi-sea can translated to “Red Sea”, but also a red c, as in middle c on a piano.

Loose Notes, Then Chatting?

Rubisea then discovered on the Maebaleia continent. Hucka D. claims it was original SL land, and where Baker Bloch and Baker Blinker were “born”, perhaps.*** Represents 1/12th or 1/13th of Blue Feather Sea which Crabwoo is situated upon (one corner anyway). Is original ur note of SL, the Red C or Red Sea, thus: Ruby Sea or Rubi Sea or Rubisea. Unexplored connections between Rubisea and the Rubi Forest. Has light (sunny) and dark (moon, werewolf) side. Represents anima and animus in ways, like Baker Bloch and Baker Blinker to me. Light half in Blue Drake sim, thus origin of story that Blue Drake is source of Blue Feather (Sea). Original note, again, which turns into the 12 notes [or 13; Baker’s Dozen] of the Blue Feather Sea. Feather is bigger than bird/duck in this manner.

Chat…

The Blue Feather Sea *came from* Bluedrake. Drake is a duck is a bird. Feather from bird. But the feather is much larger than the bird in this case. 12-13 times as large along one side alone. What does this mean? Is it, perhaps, a RO of ones, then? 12 or 13? CHRO… BROOK… ROOK?

Different BFG?

https://bakerbloch.wordpress.com/2015/03/23/artie-c-spongeberg/

When I was a freshman in college I started listening to a lot of atonal music, like Schoenberg, like Ives, like Bartok. But mainly, at first, Schoenberg and his famous pupils Webern and Berg. I was also breaking from my tonal past. This also represented a relative dark period in my life, thankfully quite short — a period of about a 1/2 year at best. Afterwards I returned to my naturally sunny self. It was the damned atonal crud affecting me, you see. Or the 12 tone stuff to be more specific. One of the ways I worked through it was to incorporate and transform for easier digestion. Thus was born the CHRO system, which never really circled back to a composing system as I originally intended. It didn’t become a pseudo-replacement for Schoenberg’s 12 tone system. It had a life of its own instead, and also made a bridge between music and art.

What caused Nasty Branch to become Unnasty, and Rubisea to turn from red/dirty to clear/clean?

Developing 01

Snapshot5030_001

What’s not in new Collagesity (Minoa) that was in old or original Collagesity (Noru):

Noru Museum:
Lots of prims involved, and obviously not as apropos in Minoa as it was in Noru. May set up a Rubi Museum, however, like this same structure housed in, well, Rubi’s VWX Town this past winter. Rubi has a history too, just as substantial, probably, as my involvement with Noru.

Tired Falls:
Not a structure, but a missing element for sure. I hated to give up that waterfall. Can’t find a place on the new property for it. However, the focus on the new property is obviously the Rubi Forest itself. Which reminds me…

carter01

… to complement this…

ruby04

Snapshot1343_002
Lucky’s Magic Village (Old Rubi Museum, VWX Town)

Back to the survey…

Toxic Art Gallery:
I’ve chose not to rez this admittedly prim saving gallery holding 80 of the 100 collages of the Art 10×10, still my most important collage work overall, I feel. Perhaps. But Falmouth and Power Tower and now the Sam Parr State College Admin Building hold newer and perhaps more pertinent collages and it seemed time to move on. Actually, this was derezzed in Noru before I decided to move.

X Spot Gallery (top, main part):
This was not filled out in Noru, but represented a really nifty way to bridge the Kidd Tower, Power Tower, and Falmouth galleries in a low skybox. Also will be missed. Could theoretically still hold the Jeogeot Through Art and Word exhibit. But that’s more connected to Noru as well since Noru is part of the Jeogeot continent.

So what’s in new Collagesity, conversely, that wasn’t in the old Noru version?

SoSo Gallery:
Containing the Oblong series of the Art 10×10, perhaps the most important series within it and most cohesive. 20 collages in the series (out of 100 total in the Art 10×10). Nice addition to the town beyond Noru.

Home o’ Fibs:
Another structure that wasn’t in Noru but is in Minoa. Nice view from the porch into the meat of the town.

House of Truth:
Was in Minoa until a couple of days ago. May return.

So 1 more way Camp Ruby pops up in a list of pop places (through variant names):

campruby03

Mostly familiar counties there: Duplin, Dallas, Patrick.

—–

Conclusion for now:

Minoa Collagesity still needs an identity. Sam Parr State College seems stronger within (they’ve claimed the SoSo Gallery, the Kidd Tower, the Bodega Supermarket, and the lower building of the X Spot Gallery (!)), so that’s a core to build from. Sam Parr St. College, I feel, is a virtual life complement to Woodrow Wilson College in Ashville. Both border protected forests. That’s a link that can be furthered as well, probably starting with Bracket Jupiter and his proposed Spring Semester course on the continent of Corsica. Cool idea. Required reading will be the Baker Blinker Blog’s posts on the subject, collected in one work.

One possibility for a t-shirt selling on campus, then:

“Eye of Rye…

corsicabig10

…is close enough to Video, Greene County in this original Corsica-Pennsylvania overlap that we can latch on to the association. Eye of Rye is Video. Media, Pennsyvania may stand for Audio (missing in GNIRPS) or perhaps audio and video together to make sync. We know from old Corsica material, Bracket, that Chasm Deep represents the ear of the overall elephant[ in the room], as Eye of Rye originally stands for the eye before it is weakened as it were…

Bracket Jupiter:

… as it is… (smiles)

bb:

… and move to the more correctly placed Egg Hill sink overlapped with Centre County, Penn.

Bracket:

That’s the eye of course. Have you realized I teach at WW, starting in the Spring?

bb:

But it’s really Sam Parr State College. And you teach the political history of Second Life mainland, not the actual, real world.

Bracket:

Correctomundo!

bb:

That’s why we’re boning up!

Bracket:

Thank you once again. I enjoyed our time together as teacher and pupil. I hope I taught you well. Now you can teach me.

bb:

It’s ultimately subconscious, though.

Bracket:

Okay.

bb:

But thank you. It’s a brilliant move. We work together again at least on a subconscious level. And through us the other teacher. The one who I didn’t get to know. In-between is Green. We are in Winona County, Wisconsin[ as well], starting at the red and also blue Rollingstone covers at Winona itself… herself, and attempting to see Green again behind. 1 eye. Illuminati obviously.

—–

bb:

Media would be on the opposite side of the Pennsylvania-Corsica melding, at the place I first visited on the continent, Bracket. That could be important as well. Here’s the related link:

edge of the world

That’s the first post on Corsica I created, btw. Alpha.

—–

corsicabig02

bb;

When you flip Pennsylvania around underneath the Corsica outline, Media almost exactly replaces Video, and then you have Eye of Rye following the circle of the upper part of Delaware state itself, which Delaware County, Penn. is just above.

Bracket:

Well… tell me more about Greene County and your real life family, baker b.

bb:

Coded into this is father, sister, brother. Father is corner sync. Ned Ryerson from Groundhog Day. It’s pretty obvious.

Bracket:

Yes, that’s cool. You already told me about it in[ the briefing].

bb:

Sister as well. Sister use to own property in Nebo. That’s where that name comes from. 32 acres. And Nebo is the same as Video. Time is nearby also, like in Illinois.

—–

bb:

And of course you have Corsica as a town within Pennsylvania, just below Forest County and in the same county as Punxsutawney.

—–

Bracket:

Microcosm, yes.
