Munsters

“Show me the map,” requests Hucka Doobie to Baker Bloch.

—–

“Yes. Christiansted. Surrounded by monsters. These could represent the 4 true Munsters: Grandpa, Eddie, Herman, and Lily. Grandpa is Grandpa obviously. Fangs could be Eddie, who also has them. Or Lily even. Then Herman is Herman. And Munster could be Lily or Eddie, once more. What is the name of the ordinary Munster, the one who doesn’t count?”

“Marion,” guesses Baker incorrectly.

“Marion. So Timmy Duncan, greatest power forward in NBA history, was born and raised in this Christiansted capital city.”

“Correct, Hucka Doobie.”

“When Hurricane Marion destroyed the island’s only Olympic-sized swimming pool in 1989, Duncan was forced to swim in the ocean, where he quickly lost enthusiasm for the sport because of his fear of monster attacks — sharks in this case. He turned to basketball, which was destiny, fate. He went through a conversion.”

“Yeah. But I’m checking on the phone now, Hucka Doobie. The hurricane’s name was Hugo. Marion came 6 years afterwards, a somewhat milder affair. But, in looking closer, that hurricane’s name was Marilyn. So Marilyn must be the ordinary Munster. The perimeter which is the center of it all. Duncan was already a star at Wake Forest by then.”

“A star is born. Let’s go back to SoSo now and study further. I just wanted to see what you had set up in this secret Muff-Bermingham station.”

—–

“This collage 17 of 2007’s Oblong series depicts a later Duncan, after he won his first championship as the somewhat lesser of the twin towers formed by himself and fellow future hall of famer David Robinson. And this is where your personal WBA ends and the general NBA continues. Zircon Zappers Tom Casey and Robert Jones were the parallels to this twin tower situation in San Antonio.”

“Yes, I’m almost positive of that, Hucka Doobie. Duncan later excels beyond Robinson. I didn’t have that.”

“(Collage 17) is another great 3-n-1. And where we also ended an Oblong analysis from, what was it, way back in 2008? LINK”

“I don’t know, Hucka. Pretty long time ago,” Baker Bloch agreed.

“Three (Lake District) tarns. Three choices. River Derwent originating in Seathwaite Fell — SF — reaching Derwent Water through the finger-ish delta was a goal. Fox Tarn rock blocked, with Crazy Clown Head removed. But maybe Angle Tarn aligned with Duncan instead of Robinson succeeds, not the one in Langstrath but in Patterdale. But maybe they are also one. Tarn at Leaves. This (work remains) confusing.”

“But the clincher that this has to do with Muff-Bermingham, Hucka Doobie, is the presence of Herman Munster in the very next Oblong collage. 18. Two from the end now.

That Munster perfectly fills a gap between two mirrored images.”

“The beginning of Stonethwaite from Greenup,” Hucka Doobie adds. “You must return.”

Heart matters

“Jeez, I can’t stop yawning, Hucka Doobie. Ordered that expresso just in time.”

“Thanks for meeting me here again. You never know how long these rented places will last. I wanted to soak up some ambience while it’s around.”

“Lively place, I’ll give it that.” Baker Bloch was looking out the front window when stating this.

“I think that’s what I’ll call it — we’ll call it. Lively. While it’s here.”

“Have you seen the aley out back?”

“That’s my line. But: no. Now keep up.”

“You go ahead, then.”

“It leads to the center of it all. The place Jasper should be but won’t. *Is* this the replacement for a subsequently destroyed Collagesity? Has our town had its run, Baker Bloch? These are questions we must be asking. Jasper predicted it all.”

“The Jasper collage series, you mean. The one hung in SoSo Mall currently.”

“Of course.” Hucka Doobie then looks out the 4th wall of the establishment. “Oh, I see. The reader.”

“Finish your coffee and we’ll take a look. Have you soaked in enough ambience yet?”

Hucka Doobie looks around. “Futuristic coffeehouse. Established in 3025. Dallier’s Hope. Owners/creators may be from Saturn. Yes, I’ve soaked in enough. I’m done.”

—–

“It’s dark, Hucka Doobie. Maybe we should turn on the daytime lights.”

“And some shaders and other stuff. The full ensemble. Downsize your window!”

“A little better,” Baker Bloch proclaims. “What’s the coordinates now?”

Hucka Doobie checks. “87, 156, 103.”

“If we find the spot that *coordinates* with the one in the Rubi Woods, then maybe that will help us make a determination which path to choose. And maybe then go look at the center of the Jasper series. The Great Either/Or as we might start calling it.”

“Let’s name as much as possible tonight,” requests Hucka Doobie. “We have Lively, Aley, Styx — that’s one of Wheeler’s, and then Tool. Where’s Tool?”

“Yes, Tool,” Baker Bloch cryptically answers, still thinking of the central Jasper collages. He has already disposed of The Great Either/Or.

—–

“Let’s do the walking thing again, Baker Bloch.”

“Let’s”

—–

“I don’t think I had the right walk Hucka Doobie,” Baker exclaims afterwards. “Oh well. Here we are.”

Hucka Doobie takes a seat. “I wonder why they say it’s under construction? Looks perfectly finished to me.”

Baker points toward the back left corner. “Let’s go there. I’ll keep tabs of my coordinates.”

“Sho ’nuff.”

—–

“Okay, Hucka Doobie. This is definitely the spot. 97/97. Right in front of ‘Precarious Geisha,’ just as Wheeler and The Musician told us.”

“Let’s head down,” the bee-man requested.

—–

“Nope, Hucka Doobie. There’s no 97/97/97 any longer. Ground’s been raised to 100 meters. No sign of Pitch Black or its poisonous tower, but that’s not unexpected. But you could turn right here, look north, and stare up at the monstrosity.”

“OD still worships the structure. That’s its impossible black hole. A constant, impossible orbit. Just like in ‘(The) Impossible Planet’.”

“More ‘Dr. Who’ references. But jumbled up from the series. The parallel to the black hole here has been destroyed — assimilated. Yet the city remains.”

“OD remembers. There must be a parallel, alternate town.”

“What I was thinking.”

—–

—–

I accidentally teleported right beside the SoSo sign again for the mall, Hucka Doobie. But… so here we are. Tool.”

“One reality has Collagesity standing put and remaining independent of VHC City. The second has all the *energy* of Collagesity streaming into VHC City instead. The blackbird, Hucka Doobie.”

“Spongeberg (the Destroyer),” states Hucka Doobie.

Safe means safe.

“Nice catch, mister. Know anything about Mister Lock locks by chance?”

“It’s ms., actually,” returned the lady fisherman. “Do you view fishing as a masculine sport young man, er woman?”

“Guess so. Maybe I just wanted an excuse to talk about locks. Because I know who you are. You are the keymaster, perhaps on a permanent break. ‘Gone Fishing’.”

Meanwhile, The Musician had given up attempting to play the nearby odd piano. Spilling water for keys. Stringy plants for piano strings. The American Standardbred horse Enola EM looks on amused.

He walks over to the small pond. “That her?”

“Yeah. What’s your name missus?”

“Chuckles. Like a clown. I was in the circus before earning the rank of keymaster. Keymeister is how we call it in the trade. But I can’t seem to teach the laypeople that. Would you like to see my clown face?”

“Oh sure,” replies Wheeler. “Wouldn’t we Musician?”

“Wouldn’t we what?” He had been distracted by the VHC Town skyline, trying to figure out where their “safe” plaza was in all that complexity. How did Wheeler find the keymaster out here so quickly?

“Take me back to your Collagesity and I’ll show you. Just send me a teleport invite after you return home. Now skidaddle.” Chuckles returned her attention to the wriggling fish she just caught. “I’ll bring this perch along as well. Maybe you can find someone to cook it for us over in your town. I can’t cook worth a lick. Can catch fish all day and all night but, you know how it is. Compartmentalization.”

“Sure, that’ll be fine Ms. Fisherman,” states Wheeler.

“Ms. Greentop,” the fisherwoman corrects. “Irish,” she adds.

“We have something to show you over there as well,” states Wheeler. “A painting we found near your shop. A puzzling one. Perhaps you can answer some questions.”

“Yes, in your town, yes. Not here. Too many ears. Ears are in hears.”

—–

“Which one bought her?” The Musician asks in confusion. He begins rummaging through his inventory.

“Me, of course,” returns Wheeler. “Who has all the money around here?”

“Yeah, I don’t see it. And I suppose you have the painting as well. That one was free, though.”

Wheeler checks. She has both. She makes sure the right group is activated, then rezzes. “Stand back,” she playfully warns.

“Oh wait. I have a funny one,” she then says, rearranging the objects. “Haha.”

Chuckles Greentop awakes, looks around. “That an actual honest to goodness Linden forest out there?” She points her rod toward the transparent front of the Blue Feather Club.

“Sure ’nuff is,” responds Wheeler. “And full of demons and other oddities. There’s even a fishing pond on the southern edge. Would you like to see?”

“Why not.”

“Musician, go over there to Collagesity West and change that Gloomy Gus into convex hulls. That should do the trick.” She returns her attention to Chuckles Greentop. “25 prims, Ms. Fisherman,” Wheeler scolds. “You come at a pretty price!”

“I’ve been around,” Chuckles Greentop responds.

“Ahem,” The Musician coughs. “The painting,” he prompts.

“Oh right. Well Ms. Greentop. Do you know anything about this painting beside you. The cat looks through a red door, but yet there’s a red door already opened. Two red doors, when there logically should only be one, it seems. We know you know about doors and how to get in and out of them. You must know about the red doors.” She looks over at The Musician, who stares back approvingly.

“It’s time to show my face,” Chuckles Greentop says instead. “If you look behind the door, you will see.”

—–

The Musician took a closer look after the change.

“Lame” was what he was thinking. But then the rest of the face transformed as well. They were frightened all the way back to VHC Town and their safe plaza. Lesson learned!

Two Cities

Back in Collagesity, The Musician persuades Wheeler (a.k.a. The Painter) to watch a longer Youtube film by SL resident Zarrakan about the LEA 11 “Glass Jars” installation. To Wheeler’s mild irritation, he then creates a running dialog with the film, stating how the two examinations of the sim differ and how he did things better overall. Afterwards, Wheeler wishes to watch another suggested Zarrakan film about wrestling, one of her numerous physical passions, right up there with dance and exercise. The Musician waves this off, however, saying at one and 1/2 hours that particular video is too long, and states they should instead view a short animation that acted as partial inspiration for “Glass Jars” entitled “The House of Small Cubes”. Wheeler relents (my how she’s softened because of the most recent Assimilation!). She understands that continued development of The Musician is very important. Besides… well, never mind that right now.

Ear.

“Well here we are Wheeler. Ear.”

“But it’s bar,” Wheeler stated, looking up at the sign.

“No… Ear. Like in hear. Ear is in hear.”

Wheeler puts her finger to her chin. “You’re thinking about the space. The Ear space. Like the space… well, that’s what you should be thinking about, then. You are The Musician, after all.”

Then it was back to the ledge.

LEA11 01

The Musician gathering up gifts at Art Oluja’s LEA11 installation, entitled “Glass Jars.” Baker Bloch was warned about the opening of this aesthetic tour de force over a week back, but hasn’t visited the installation yet due to a lingering viral infection. New guy Musician was dispatched instead.

Um — wow! — this might take him a while.

Sticking to dry land for now, he quickly encounters a number of false windows suspended by cables surrounding an inlet of water. Water pours from the false sea depicted at the bottom of each window into the inlet, challenging us to consider the nature of reality here.

The Musician wonders what the paradoxical windows are attached to way up there, out of sight.

Sitting beside the inlet.

Standing up, The Musician falls into the water to discover more wonders. He’s entered something deep for sure! The sim abounds with life.

Amazing textures and shapes. I was studying Max Ernst a bit earlier tonight (see “What Crows See”) and this translates well into his vernacular.

The Musician then stumbles on what *might* be the heart of the exhibit: a small sea canyon filled with namesake glass jars. He discovers a sprite-like being named “secrets” holding a green scroll called “Letter from my secret garden”.

Stuck somehow on the wall beside her are many additional scrolls of different sizes and bindings, along with a number of bottles.

Since we are in a sea environment, we can speculate theses are matching bottles and messages, separated out and then arranged in this peculiar pattern for a particular reason (?) I can’t wrap my head around it tonight. I’ll have to return through The Musician another night, perhaps tomorrow. Until then!

Developments

“Well, we finally got a roof on this old gazebo. Carrcassonne’s been sitting in the rain for quite some time now. Maybe 1/2 a year.”

“I doubt if she minded,” responds Karoz. “Being inactive and all.”

“We’re working on *that* as well,” Baker Bloch replies. “Not Perch unfortunately.”

“Oh?”

“No, Wheeler has had a talk with him. He doesn’t want to give up his independence after being removed. Eyes are picky like that.”

“At least it’s better than a picky nose.”

Baker Bloch doesn’t reply to Karoz’s weak joke but continues. “Obviously not the abberant one you found on the fake Mars… LeMars, the one that really doesn’t exist.”

“No that wouldn’t be good (for Collagesity). Must be a place you can, er, place an ad. ‘All Seeing Eye Monthly’ or something.

“Maybe. But things are changing around here. Wheeler’s seen the light. She’s been assimilated (in turn).”

“Amazing,” says Karoz back. “And I seem to not work for her. Maybe we should call it an opening for a full time position with Tom Busker. Closer to home (since I live in the mall and all). Less travel… can stay home with the pet.”

“You have a pet?” Baker Bloch asks.

“The parrot… remember?”

“I think so. The Ancient?”

“No. Just a parrot. Wheeler Wilson is doing good by her name now. TILE may move forward. Pretty sure of that, actually.”

“We’ll see how it develops,” Baker ended.

State of Things

Blue Mtn. Urban Landscape/Bigfoot (etc.) will certainly come into play very soon, perhaps this Sunday. Poison Ivy will be out in the High Country maybe by mid to late April. So little time to lose in major exploring until then. I’ve been to Whitehead Crossing quite a number of times during the warm winter and early spring. I’ll make comments on some pics I made asap. New “path” discovered which leads to interesting rock group on upper edge of Woods of Howl (or is it Woods of Hal?). Spotted girl hiking there about month and a half back. Unusual to encounter someone in the open woods and I asked her if she knew where she was, which she responded to in the affirmative. An orange dog was with her. Mossman research continues… that’s all changing as far as past mythology goes. I do not plan — I don’t think — to create a toy happening at Whitehead Crossing, despite the surface attraction. Instead I’ll be observing and occasionally taking pictures there. Bigfoot will probably remain the focus in that area. My speculation is that Bigfoot was specifically created for me by Others just for this purpose. The Bigfoot Swamp is unusually placed.

My educated guess is that I’ll procure future “toys/junk” either from flea markets or a proximate Goodwill store (right at the entrance to Bigfoot!). There is still a chance I may give up Collagesity in Minoa and rebuild in the fall. I must keep developing real life art in tandem with Second Life related art and fiction. But the Collagesity novels have been a hoot to create (!). I now call them Collagesity I II and III sometimes, but the actual names, again, are: “Collagesity 2015-2016 Winter” (C1516W), “Collagesity 2016 Later” (C16L), and “Collagesity 2016-2017 Winter” (C1617W). So the new one may be called “Collagesity 2017 Later” if it follows the pattern. I don’t plan to begin this next projected installation in the series until the early summer at the very least but who knows. Right now I’m in an in-between period, which could be a prelude for the new novel.

My gradual psychic removal from the Snowlands continues after heavy involvement in it at the end of C1617W. I will not renew my rental in its western part for another month (rented a 2048 parcel right after the completion of C1617W in early March). All my “illegal” builds, such as at Wheeler’s “Way Station”, or beside Woody’s A-frame, have been deleted in the meantime. A possibility exists to rent in Ohno on eastern side of Snowlands, but we’ll see. It will be small, probably a 512, if so.

What will Collagesity 2017 Later look like? What of the new installation of Bigfoot/Chesterton toy-junk-marble happenings? Questions that of course really can’t be answered right now. But let’s speculate anyhoot…

Bigfoot-Chesterton: the area between them, called Vincente for now LINK, is a possibility for a third perhaps smaller and more condensed (and story laden?) happening. Through it we may better piece together what the other two are about.

In Collagesity 2017 Later, we may have the return to power of Carrcassonnee, maybe in tandem with (an also transformed) Wheeler. Baker Bloch and Baker Blinker remain the powers behind the scene, however, more Bloch but also Blinker as repository of many past memories and experiences now. Bracket Jupiter may return in diff. form. I’m not sure Old Mabel and Urch/Buurb will come back. Karoz obviously will return, and perhaps will become a central character once more (he was kind of on backburner in C1617W). That’s all for now.
