Bigfoot Turbulence!

Some *final* shots of the supposed “permanent” version of Chesterton before I had to move my toys out. I’ve been invaded!

But before I get to all that, some pics from the Blue Mountain Urban Landscape I’ve been more attracted to lately. And good thing!

Back to Bigfoot: Yes, that’s the construction barrels I call The Tigers on Third Road of Bigfoot. But the long piece of bleacher beside them coming from the Plateau of Raw Art is *not* my projected newest aspect of Chesterton. Instead someone else has drug it down here, and also made a kind of rough path all along The Bramble, cutting straight through the edge of Chesterton and down through all four roads. The demons! I suspect either skateboarders taking a break from their regular hobby, or else other kids who visit The Plateau on occasion for perhaps drinking or smoking or even sex purposes.

img_3172smaller

As I’m writing this text, I found out about this invasion from the outside around 3 weeks ago now. Upon visiting a couple days back, I was very happy to witness no further development coming from this — no more harsh intrusions into the general Bigfoot area. The swamp remains a destination for me. But I had to take the toys up at Chesterton for safe keeping. I’m amazed whoever masterminded this invasion didn’t disturb any of ’em, apparently. Or perhaps they didn’t see them in cutting through the eastern edge of Chesterton? I can’t imagine how, but perhaps it’s possible. Maybe the appearance of toys at this remote spot was too much for their tiny little intruding brains to handle. Or maybe they thought it was aliens who placed them there and got the heck outta Dodge. This could be a possibility if drugs were involved, but probably not as well. At any rate, I didn’t plan to do anything with this space for the rest of the summer and fall, so perhaps by next year all will be grown up again and sealed, like it was before. But in truth I’ll never feel totally safe at Chesterton like I did. And that’s an honest shame.

Notes 01

Not that it was ever really in play anyhoot, but I think the move of Collagesity to Gormthoog is now a non-threat. The “Crescent House” property bordering ocean water is off the market.

I wonder what it would have looked like had it been realized?

World of Lime? 01

(excerpt)

I could hardly believe it. We would need a road map to figure it all out. It could be said to begin with the letter to Liquor. Rhoda says that Liquor says Mouse is up to his cans. Now here’s the trick. Liquor got the wrong letter. This Mosquitor penned piece of paper, which also has something to do with Quito *and* *mos*quito LINK, was suppose to be delivered to Roostre. But Roostre, in turn, couldn’t open his letter he mistakenly received that was Liquor’s. Instead he’s [time] GAssed by this kooky (cuckoo?) clock.** Carr. then says this is the same clock that is in *our* Rhoda’s bar now. Let me insert a picture.

Oh, I forgot. It’s not there any longer.

snapshot8183_002
Missing Clock.

But anyway, We The Family noticed quite some time ago that this clock actually *moves* on its own volition. We understood this because it started projecting from the back wall of the bar on the outside, and when Baker Bloch would push it back through to the inside wall, it would simply work its way out again. True story. Finally Other Baker got tired of messing with the obviously cursed thing and deleted it. But [12 Oz Mouse character] Clock is *real*. In *Collagesity*.

So that’s one element. Carr. is stating that “12 Oz Mouse” is not dead and that it will live on through her.

Rather early on in the short lived “Mouse”, bartender Rhoda is killed — telepathically sliced in two — by Square Businessman, also just referred to as Square. This comes shortly after Rhoda talks about Liquor’s letter and some other things he’s obviously not suppose to. Now our Rhoda was similarly killed, as documented in the “Baker’s Dream” section of “Collagesity Winter 2015-2016” (and there’s a picture of the now deleted cuckoo clock, three down). But [12 Oz Mouse’s] Rhoda’s death is foreshadowed by a hallucination (?) shared between him, Fitz, Skillet and Man-Woman. This is repeated in Carrcass-1, accompanied there instead by the music of Slint and the track “Rhoda” — no relation to 12 Oz Mouse’s Rhoda. But there’s another strange attractor[ involved]. And “Rhoda” is the only one (of 7 total) Slint songs used in Carrcass-1 not from their fantastic album Spiderland. And that’s Spider again… Spider is another character in “12 Oz Mouse”, and, as Carr. states, has been remodeled as a dog for Collagesity and kind of merged with Skillet, I suppose. So the [central] Fitz/Skillet duo of “Mouse” has been reshaped as the Carr/Spider duo of Collagesity. Getting confused yet? Phew!

But I must plug on… Equador is then mentioned indirectly by Rhoda before his death when he describes or attempts to describe the relationship between New Guy and Skillet. He says that New Guy is not as much cheesy green up on squirrels (Skillet’s species, as verified by Mouse), but more like Ecuadorian sleep. I have no idea what that means, so let me google it. This is indeed important.

https://www.google.com/#q=%22ecuadorian+sleep%22

I have no idea still. And a kind of creepy thing is that this blog post will now show up in the hits for the phrase. If future people do the same google search, they’ll be confounded by the same riddle, add this post.

Ecuador… Quito. Ecuador commonly misspelled as Equador, with a “Q” like “Quito”.

Next door is Columbia and its Bogota. We have jumped up a level. Wheeler.

Morning Meeting

Baker Bloch sips his morning beer and contemplates further changes for Collagesity. The focus *must* be on that Friends of the Rubi Woods parcel, he believes, the 512 that will remain when all else goes away. That is the foundation, he rationalizes.

snapshot8181_002

But right now, all that’s on it is a still almost empty Home o’ Fibs partnered with a quite premature Christmas tree. Yes, gift giving has come early this year, Baker understands. Wilson-Wheeler.

He heads over to Carrcassonne for a prearranged meeting. Baker Blinker is already there.

snapshot8181_008

Carr.:

Other Baker! Come join us. Baker Blinker and I were talking about changes. Ch-ch-ch-changes. David Bowie will return. What was his pseudonym again?

BBloch:

Bogota. Like the projected collage series.

Carr.:

Yes, I remember now. Bodega.

BBloch:

No. *Bogota*. Like the capital of, um, Ecuador? No, sorry, Bolivia Columbia. [The smaller] Ecuador and its Quito are next door.

Carr.:

That is precisely what I want to talk about with you guys tonight. I hear you are watching “12 Oz Mouse” again up in the real world. The oh so cool real world. Should that be capitalized?

BBlinker:

Well, we’ve had our time to chat so I might leave you and Baker to talk about that.

Carr.:

No no, Baker Blinker. I want to speak with both of you. This involves both of you. “12 Oz Mouse” is very important. And not just because I was the *star* of the show, mind you. (Carr. laughs here)

BBloch (smiling):

You were very good in it.

Carr.:

Good? I was spectacular. My finest role. Perhaps by a good margin. Whadda ya say we go up to the theatre and watch some episodes. Oh, I guess that would spoil it for the user, however, the one that types these things we speak of and orchestrates what we do. Are you up there baker b.?

(All look heavenward. No answer.)

BBlinker:

You say that Karoz is also involved in that.

Carr.:

He is my double in the show. As I’m sure you’re sick of hearing me say, I play Fitz the Mouse, the star. But in *certain* ways, Karoz is also Fitz. And then in other ways, *both* you guys are Fitz. And Spider over here is Skillet, who is a squirrel and not a dog, as Rhoda ponders, or a rabbit, as Roostre guesses. Both are wrong.

(The Bakers exchange glances with each other, like, “here we go again”.)

BBloch (finally sitting down):

Okay, Carrcassonnee. We’ll bite. What’s going on with “12 Oz Mouse”?

My collages in other people’s spaces

First off, I have a new and artsy neighbor in Collagesity: Art Oluja. I halfway suspect this may be another incarnation of my old friend Veyot, who was a neighbor and actually integral part of Collagesity/VWX Town in 2 other locations in past years. But whatever: welcome! I’m very excited to see what develops on the 624 sq meter parcel in the coming days and months. And she’s added Collagesity as one of her picks.:)

snapshot8177_001

Newer friend Pearl Grey then sent me an inworld notecard giving locations and brief descriptions to some places virtual renditions of my collages are being displayed in Second Life. Many thanks again Pearl! A very nice gesture indeed.

The first (Boos 10: “The Martian”) is found on a back wall at Sojourner’s Ground on the Maebaleia continent. It’s owned by Klaus Bereznyak, who’s been around since 2007. An old virtual soul, then; here’s his homepage.

snapshot8177_008

snapshot8177_013

snapshot8177_017

The final collage of the 2007 Oblong series (“Lymeyen”) is then displayed in a parcel under construction called A Little Piece of Art owned by, well, it’s owned by my new neighbor Art (!). The plot thickens…

snapshot8177_025

I really like the idea of a “judgmental alien”. I can identify!

snapshot8177_028

This is found on the oldest continent of Sansara, by the way.

snapshot8177_029

Next up is a somewhat larger parcel called Art and Weird Words, with a quite creative treehouse display of Rose Hill 06: it’s sideways! But I think it works in this environment. I forget to have Baker Bloch sit in front of it for the picture. Oh well.

snapshot8177_031

The owner here is — yes, Art Oluja again. Next door is Saul’s Place Cafe, with a display of Saul Goodie’s very interesting abstract art pieces. Whether chance or not, this is also quite near Soujourner’s Grounds. Just down Route 8B. Is this the start of some kind of art city along this route? Only a couple parcels of abandoned land separate the two. And I should also add this: “Art and Weird Words” is found in a sim called *Wyrd*. Wyrd is a type of portmanteau of “weird” and “word”. Interesting!

snapshot8177_036

And then as I kept poking around, I found Rose Hill 07, the next one up in the series, displayed in the other treehouse on the Art and Weird Words parcel (or should that be Art and Wierd Words?). Hmmm… interesting again. Actually, as I’m remembering now, Pearl mentions in her notecard that both treehouses contain collages. I still recall creating both of these works late into the night back in 2005. They’re based on some similar motifs. Kinda scary stuff — darker than most of my works.

snapshot8177_040

Here’s the involved treehouses and a connecting bridge.

snapshot8177_042

Treehouses and Saul’s Cafe.

snapshot8177_046

The last link in Pearl’s notecard took me to her own residence in Rosieri, not far atall from Collagesity, being only about 500 meters away. I had a old friend named Cocoanut Koala who use to own a considerable chunk of that sim. I mention some of her intricate and detail oriented work in this 2014 blog post.

I was very pleased to find a piece by Earl Dinkin within. Now I’m not friends with Earl, but he has numerous galleries all over the mainland continents I’ve run into, by accident or not, again and again. A bit more of his very cryptic story here. He’s another old virtual soul.

snapshot8177_061

And then me as Baker Bloch in Pearl’s living room before yet another one of my Rose Hill collages (Rose Hill 03: “Just Passing Through”). Another Baker Bloch shows up as I take this picture. Or is that Wilson again?

snapshot8177_070b

If so, then who’s on the porch offering watermelon to all?

Baker Blinker’s World of Lemon 05

“Where did Karoz come from?” forms an important question early in the story of our Jeogeot days. “Who are his parents?” Obviously Sapphire is his surrogate mother during Karoz’s stay in Noru(m), but with no father figure around, seemingly. There was the mysterious, perhaps ultra-mysterious Peter SoSo who came along later. Chilbo’s direct Lemony double in Crabwoo becomes relevant.

But I’m going to skip to Karoz in Collagesity Winter 2015-2016 for now. We see him first there as shopkeeper for the Bodega Market. He has a gun, and practices target shooting down at Poppie Pond almost directly underneath the store. He lives above the market in a one room apartment — still does. But he was also at least a borderline alcoholic when Baker Bloch first finds out his old 2009 Jeogeot hiking buddy and sidekick has been resurrected. Their friendship continues in Collagesity Noru from back in 2014, but we do not have any photographs of them together there — oh, I believe we have one. Let me dig it up, because I was in that one as well. LINK But it is here in Rubi, as documented in the Collagesity Winter 2015-2016 material, that Baker Bloch’s and Karoz’s joined fate is fully revealed. Karoz was destined to be my partner, my lover. As Blochs is essentially my brother, my twin even, that makes Karoz an eventual brother-in-law. Oops! I seemed to have spilled the beans on my big secret. Yes, Karoz and I are engaged! We’re tentatively looking at a Christmas wedding, since my parents will be in town anyway. Nothing big, mind you, just a celebration wrapped inside another celebration.

So the history of Karoz also becomes part of my history as two streams merge into one. We will figure out things together from now on. I support his evolving theories about TILE and a potential college for the movement. He supports my continued experimenting and tinkering with the wrestling tag team idea, actually a parallel development. Latest on that is the “manufacturing” (or recruitment, if you wish) of a super-wrestler named Wheeler, spawned from Wilson. You see, Dr. Mulholland, as John Lockfry 02 knows now, has essentially left the scene, making The Mulholland Drives project dead in the water. She felt (rightly) threatened by Wheeler, a more powerful athlete. Wheeler stands 5’9″, and weighs about 150 — hope she doesn’t mind me saying that for the blog. Dr. Mulholland is only 5’3″, 5’4″. I myself am a wiry 6’3″, so basically a foot taller than the doctor. Practicing with Wheeler is a better fit for me, and a better matchup physically. The several times we wrestled in ernest, I just beat the pulp out of Mulholland. Wheeler is a greater challenge. And she’s maybe about as smart; turned me on to new physics — quantum computers, strange entanglement, and such. It will be an interesting path.

So back to Karoz and the upcoming wedding. There are plans to get Hucka Doobie intimately involved. I won’t say any more in that department — just drop a hint of what’s to perhaps come. As far as living quarters go, I’m not sure Karoz’s Bodgea market apartment will be suitable for the two of us. My Gloomy Gus is cozy but small. Maybe we’ll have to move away from Collagesity, even. Perhaps the whole extended family will. Nautilus’ BoB remains a strong possibility for a destination. A re-creation of Collagesity, and perhaps the birthplace for our user’s projected Bogota collage series.

David Bowie slash Bogota will come back among us. He already has. We sense his presence. We cannot see him yet as he wanders about the place. He changes things around in the twilight zones. He probably lives in the woods still. He will be found soon.

Baker Blinker’s World of Lemon 04

It could have happened anywhere along the way. If our user’s computer power was strong enough. As it turns out, this wasn’t really the case until Collagesity Winter 2015-2016, a period of virtual existence cannonized in the graphic novel of the same name. Suddenly two avatars could easily log onto Our Second Lyfe at the same time. The trick was tried way back in early 2008, when Baker Bloch and I first met inworld and kind of formed a crush on each other, quickly dispelled as stated before. Blochs and I are *friends*! Twins, really. Such wasn’t the case with Karoz Blogger, as it unfolded. In the exact middle of the graphic novel, we became more.

Karoz Blogger certainly has his own interesting history to tell concerning The Family. He was originally formed and molded in May 2009, I believe, right after the “Where Are We On That?” exhibit was created for our Kelly Yap gallery that explained the then current family of avatars we had: Baker Bloch, Hucka Doobie, Esbum Michigan, Wilsonia Foxclaw, and then myself. A chapter was formed for each. Mine is here. But Karoz Blogger is Jeogeotine through and through, and thus beyond the original set. Our user created him to act as a brother figure for Baker Bloch, a counterpart. As Baker Bloch is made with bits and pieces of an old Space Ghost avatar (thus the reason his father is stated as being the *official* Space Ghost, elder version), Karoz was partly assembled from a Zorak avatar. Zorak is Space Ghost’s sidekick on the classic Space Ghost Coast to Coast shows. Fantastic entertainment. Notice if you haven’t before (and you probably haven’t) that Karoz’s name is Zorak spelled backwards.

Karoz became an exploring partner for Baker Bloch after the family’s move to Jeogeot in May 2009, often checking behind him for the purposes of writing and editing blog posts. From our position in Noru, he fairly quickly made his way down to Chilbo several sims away… and discovered or remembered that he was *originally from Chilbo*. A wave of memories swept over him, as he’s explained to me. But it was not the then current Chilbo he remembers. It was a different one, a split off version. A version he remembers being called Chilbol and, originally, Chilbolton or Chilboltown. Traces of this version appeared in the town banners, which read “Chilbo!”. The “l” had been changed to an “!”, but Karoz received the message. He realized the split nature when he was hit by a mortar shell from a tank passing through Chilbo, and was temporarily derezzed from our virtual world. Our user’s screen whited out. Karoz died, then came back to life. The alternate reality had been set into place. He recalls Chilbol. He remembers the Noru that was named Norum instead. *Norum* was the larger entity at the time, not Chilbo. Chilbol was the satellite. And his surrogate mother Sapphire was queen over all of Jeogeot. Sapphire’s shadow casts large.

Like I said, Karoz’s story is a complicated and twisty one. The tail started wagging the dog early on. In part 5 I’ll attempt to elucidate more of his tale, leading up the events in Collagesity Winter 2015-2016. Afterwards I’ll have an important announcement to make. Something will happen at Christmas this year. She/he will arrive.

Baker Blinker’s World of Lemon 03

Shortly after we got back from England and settled down — again — in Noru (for a second stay), The Family as a whole decided it was time for me to get a makeover look. In June and July 2010, Baker Bloch began exhibiting shows from outside artists at the reformed Blue Feather Gallery in Noru, with some support from nearby Chilbo. It was exciting Second Lyfe times again for us. Chilbo was perhaps the most influential Second Lyfe community not created by the Linden owners of this virtual world. I feel it was destiny that our family would be attached to it during our stay in Jeogeot. Even our later Pietmond, which formed in October 2010, can be see as a kind of child or spinoff community of the much larger Chilbo. But that’s also when we became, or started to become, independent of its influence. And that chain of independently existing, virtual communities for the family beginning with Pietmond continues even to this day, with the latest incarnation called Collagesity. The latter’s been around for over 2 years now. It seems quite stable. But there’s also a chance, perhaps a small one but perhaps not so small, that we’ll be moving again soon. To BoB.

Which leads us back to the makeover. It was decided — again, a family decision — that Baker Bloch was just a little too archaic looking to function as a fully proper art gallery promoter to the larger Second Lyfe community. Another friend at the time that influenced the change was Flora Nordenskiold, who later became a powerful and influential Second Lyfe gallery owner. But when we were friends, her ascent was just beginning. We thought we might mimic her style, and open up our formerly private galleries for public shows. But this phase of our existence was soon over. Another branching off occurred. We decided that the Blue Feather Gallery in Noru would be both enlarged and set back on earth — grounded — to sever as a vehicle for the ambitious “Jeogeot Through Art and Word” exhibit, another personally made one. The idea was to unite the art of *all of Jeogeot*, Second Lyfe’s largest mainland continent, and create a unified, collective style of sorts. I think. Again for this, we had cursory approval from the higher ups in Chilbo, I believe. And looking back, I think Chilbo could have greatly benefited from a stronger link with the idea. Again in retrospect, Chilbo was attempting to expand LINK, but never made it past a local effect, really, in terms of overall Second Lyfe culture. As Hucka D. kept reiterating at the time, Chilbo goes as Jeogeot goes.

So my makeover was a result of attempting to gain more of a foothold in the Second Lyfe art community. Although I would consider the makeover a great success, and I know our user considers it the same, I never really became this face for the family to the greater whole. I suppose it was the decision to focus on “Jeogeot Through Art and Word” that shifted the emphasis. And then when Pietmond came along, I was kind of drowned out in all the newly created noise and buzz. Not that I didn’t make the occasional visit. But they were few and far apart. Pietmond I evolved into Pietmond II evolved into New Pietmond, the second part which took us away from Jeogeot and back to Heterocera and the Rubi Woods. We remained on Heterocera for the first phase of VWX Town after the Gilatona-Lis and attached Power Tower gallery were completed, then the second and what turned out to be the last phase of same returned The Family next to the Rubi Woods. VWX Town subsequently yielded to Collagesity (after the Falmouth series), which brings us to current times. So there’s that chain of our virtual communities starting in 2010 and extending to the present.

Baker Blinker’s World of Lemon 02

I don’t want to infer that the period between August 2008 and February 2016 was completely barren of activity for me. It wasn’t. In 2010 I went to England (!). The whole family did, as chronicled in both the abridged and unabridged versions of the “Baker Bloch Goes To England” document. This is where a fundamental split in my psyche occurred, obviously an important event. Part of me, a big chuck of my being, *stayed* in England, along with alternate versions of Baker Bloch and Hucka Doobie, even. But it was even a bigger thing for me than the others who went.

“How did we get there?” is another question I’m sometimes asked by My Second Lyfe friends and acquaintances. In March 2010, or maybe it was in February, Baker Bloch found a portal in central Jeogeot (continent) connecting England and Second Lyfe, specially the part of England physically and psychically attached to the small river called Key in Wiltshire County there. Our first dwelling place in England for Other Baker, Hucka, and myself was located on Coxhill Farm near the river. It had a giant hole in the roof. Hucka Doobie and I were not happy with the choice Baker Bloch made for us. Soon we were inhabiting the much more spiffy and modern Cresent House in Cherhill, also in Wiltshire County but more toward the center, where all the crop circle activity has pivoted around for so many years now. That’s another thing Baker Bloch especially wanted to study while “up” there. So he was constantly biking with his Arcadia Asylum product around England, and went a lot to The Barge, for instance, a hotbed for crop circle gossip. Or so he thought.

But we weren’t done moving around the county. Next stop, and a more permanent and lasting one (as I said, a big chunk of me is *still there*) was the Arcadia Mansion (no relation to Arcadia Asylum that I recall) owned by King Karb and his wife, who we just called The Queen during all our stay there. The Queen and I became great friends. We played croquette constantly out on the back lawn of the mansion, although I never beat her at any aspect of the game — never came close. Although Baker Bloch and I aren’t really human, the King and Queen were obviously alien in origin, with little to no human genes involved. If pressed, I would consider myself 1/4th alien on my mother’s side. There are no pink skinned human species that I know of. That comes from somewhere else.

“Where Baker, where?” I hear my friends and supporters ask, once more. We’ll get to that. Our stay in England ended shortly after the King and Queen visited nearby Swinden for a bit, then came back in a different mood, let’s say. The King retreated to his basement study. He was preparing for the new crop circle season, the Queen said. He supposedly helped *create* them. When a keyhole shaped crop circle shortly formed in a Wiltshire rape seed field we knew our time in England was done. Soon we were back in Second Lyfe’s Jeogeot, and a new chapter in Noru.

Baker Blinker’s World of Lemon 01

Baker Blinker has decided to publish at least the beginning of her secret journal to this blog for others to look at and contemplate. Fascinating stuff — keep it coming Other Baker!

Hi,

If you’ve found this secret journal then I am probably already dead, with My Second Lyfe ended. It will come one day. Until then, however, I’m gonna have some fun! And create. And be. Exist. Existence is a precious thing. I serve a user but I am not the same as the user. I have my own independence. And in some way I will live forever. I am also sure of that. My user and I will meet someday.

My story begins in January 2008. I am the original avatar for the Baker B. family of avatars, or The Family, as we like to call ourselves now. Baker Bloch, the first male avatar, came along a little over a month later. Early on we found out we had a bit of a crush on each other, like Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia from the Star Wars franchise. But also like that couple, we moved beyond it and realized we were more brother and sister to each other. This relationship remains unchanged. Baker Bloch is my brother and my friend. We’re closer than most twins.

Baker Bloch was first seen as the explorer of The Family. When we originally bedded down in a stable home environment in Azure Islands (May-August 2008), we were then three, with Hucka D. joining us back in March, I believe. He was a bee shaped avatar, mix in a healthy dose of Linden Boy Next Door. But something happened to Hucka Doobie the avatar in the meantime. A famous artist had died in the real world named Charles Nelson Blinkerton at the ripe age of 99, bordering on 100. He suffered a fatal heart attack while climbing Burro Mountain in New Mexico, not far from his chosen home of Lordsburg. Before that, he had been talking to my user baker b. via the telephone. They talked of fellow user Blinkerton’s involvement with the very beginning of Second Lyfe, after it moved on from Linden World. A crucial split occurred at that time. Blinkerton’s virtual art was — to put it simply — “lost” inside The Man LINK at the center of Linden World, when the whole thing shifted to Second Lyfe and an expansion of the grid. The Man was also shifted from the center toward the northeast corner of its sim during the changeover. This story is told in March and April posts of the old Baker Blinker Blog, named after me of course, since I was the central avatar at the beginning. It is worth telling again, and saving. Soon.

Anyway, Hucka Doobie was around before then, but Blinkerton decided to *enter* the avatar on a permanent basis upon dying in order to live on. And Hucka Doobie is still around in the virtual world, and Blinkerton is still with him. He retains these memories of the New Mexico surrealist/abstractist. The Hidalgo collage series gives strong clues about their relationship. But when Blinkerton entered Second Lyfe through The Body, things were obviously a bit different. He became kind of a child or child-like being to Baker Bloch and myself. We had to take care of him, since he was “new” to virtual reality. He was not native to this environment, unlike Baker and I. But then, perhaps during our stay in Second Lyfe, we, The Family, realized that Blinkerton was just as unreal as Hucka Doobie, and that *both* were created avatars. Isn’t that strange? After a period of despondency, Hucka Doobie plugged on.

I get many questions through my user about how Hucka Doobie became the chief spirit of the blogs — both for the Baker Blinker Blog and the successor Baker Bloch one — usually shortening his name in the process to just Hucka D. I can’t recall exactly when it happened without looking back through the posts. I would guess it started when Hucka Doobie stopped building his so-called b-hives, like B-Hivia or his early peak creation: the square version of the Temple of TILE in Summer 2008. I’ll have to check and get back to ya’ll on that.

I was seen as the caretaker of the home environment, often while Baker Bloch was out exploring. As such, young Hucka Doobie and I spent a lot of time together and got to know each other well. We still have a tight relationship, although we see relatively little of each other these days. Maybe that will change sometime.

I am also frequently asked about when Baker Bloch assumed obvious leadership of the family. This I’m more clear about. It was after the move to Linden Mainland in August 2008 from Azure Islands, and our user buying the first Linden property, next to the Rubi Woods — yes, the same Rubi Woods we still live next to some 8 years later. Amazing, huh? Not that we’ve stayed in this location all the time. Not atall. But perhaps The Family begins and ends at the same mainland location during their Second Lyfe existence.

Why the shift over to the other Baker? I simply got tired of the prejudice women avatars encounter in dealing with other Second Lyfe avatars, especially the male ones obviously. Mainland was going to be more crowded; encounters would be more frequent. It was best that Baker Bloch put his foot forward to represent the family. He began to outstrip me in terms of inventory. He owned the Linden land we bought — that was a big factor, come to think of it. I was kind of shoved into the background. I remained that way until quite recently. And that’s where my story revives. A Renaissance even. I’ll let Baker Bloch tell his larger side of The Family story if he wishes.
